This place is fabulous! We have been to stay and also just to have a meal. There are substantial grounds and the rooms are second to none. The service is exceptional as is the food. We had our wedding there because it’s so so good! It’s expensive but worth every penny! Hope to go this year again! Ten out of ten!!

Exemplary service from the initial welcome to check out. Beautiful accommodation with attentive staff.. Expansive grounds to explore . Immaculately presented room with attention to detail and superb room service. Would highly recommend Glenapp for a restful stay.

I purchased vouchers for my dad's 75th birthday to allow him to experience an overnight stay and afternoon tea at this stunning location with my mum, my friend and myself. Amazing, wonderful, perfect, stunning and everyone should stay or dine here at least once. The staff met us at our car after gaining secure entry at the gate and greeted us warmly in reception before Jen showed us personally to our table for afternoon tea just off the stunning drawing room. The food and drinks served were outstanding. Everything was so fresh and the attention to detail was amazing. After our meal Jen took us to our rooms while our luggage was delivered by another member of staff. My parents Grand Sea View room was the Countess Suite with stunning views across the sea to Ailsa Craig. My friend and I stayed in the Ardstinchar Garden View room which also had Ailsa Craig views from the amazing bathroom. The gardens are stunning and we took a wander after our afternoon tea down to the Glasshouse to view the art and take in our stunning surroundings. There are no tea trays in the suites at the castle so Jen arranged for us to have drinks delivered to our room free of charge which is a lovely touch when you are ordering speciality coffees and their signature hot chocolate. Jen delivered these drinks herself and these were accompanied by shortbread and rock buns as well. We did not have dinner in the hotel as we were so full we had to take a large part of our afternoon tea back to the room with us which we enjoyed later before enjoying the comfort of our beautiful beds for the night. Breakfast the next morning was every bit as perfect as the afternoon tea had been the day before with lots of choice . Presentation was impeccable again and all the food was so fresh and tasty. Jen also took part in serving us breakfast and gave us a little history lesson about the castle in the drawing room before we went to eat. We visited the beautiful library before we checked out as well. Luckily we had lovely clear sunny days when at the venue but I would still love it in any weather. I truly hope when we return that the experience is as amazing as this trip. I could not fault anything about this hotel and if you are planning on visiting then do not hesitate as you will not be disappointed. Special thanks to Jen for all her help, service and friendliness throughout our stay. A lot of hotels could learn from her and she is a great asset to have at Glenapp Castle. Thank you again for a wonderful stay and we look forward to a future visit.

Sadly, I cannot say that the whole experience was wonderful! Our first evening was really nice staff were pleasant and accommodating. However our experience on the second evening was sadly very disappointing. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary which we shared in the restaurant with a dog ( we are not dog people). Before this we were ushered into the restaurant at 7.15. We had come downstairs early so that we might enjoy our pre dinner drink. Our table was booked for 7.30 and we heard one of the staff say get them in! We were then asked if we would like to finish our pre dinner drinks to which we replied yes we would. Then, the same member of of staff who had said get them in came over and served us our wine! Seriously! However, we were gracious and did not say anything but the whole evening was a bit of a disappointment to say the least. This was our third visit to Glenn App ans sadly I think it will be the last!!! Take from that what you will!

Glenapp is outstanding. We stayed during the significant recent storm - the hotel had smashed windows, trees down, and no water for a while. The staff were fantastic, especially Hazel, who was amazing, despite personal issues. The owner made sure all the staff were safe, and then accommodated vulnerable people from the nearby town. During this, there was no reduction in the fantastic food, wine, and service for guests. Unbelievable. Six stars if possible.

Our second break at Glenapp, and we are looking forward to our next visit. We had the 7 course taster menu on both nights and what a treat. The food is sublime, probably the best we have had. Glenapp is immediately welcoming, grand but unstuffy with beautiful grounds and attentive staff. It’s a quietly confident hotel with rich furnishings and stunning flowers throughout. The owner and General Manager were visible and genuinely interested in their guests, never too busy to chat and offering suggestions for walks and activities. As expected, the food was fabulous and unhurried. A special mention for the breakfasts - absolutely delicious! We had a magnificent suite looking out over the grounds to Ailsa Craig and loved the daily tray of tea that was brought to our room, free of charge, the tastiest tea we have had in years! As we packed to leave, relaxed and content, we noted that the magic ingredient for an already magical hotel, is the people that work there. So many have personal attachment and a history with Glenapp and there’s love running through the hotel and grounds. We met who we think is the Head Gardener and we mentioned how sad it was that so many trees had been impacted by the recent storm. She agreed but told us of her 20 year history with these gardens and how it provided an opportunity for careful re-planting and growth. That’s definitely a glass half full way to look at a challenge. When we were leaving, another guest asked how the General Manager was. ‘Blessed beyond words’ was his response! How uplifting! As we spotted our first brave daffodil of the year at nearby Culzean Castle on our way home , we couldn’t have agreed more. A really lovely stay, thankyou to everyone at Glenapp

Just a lovely laid back stay in a magnificent luxury castle with acres of gardens and woodland to explore. Food, drink and accommodation first class, thank you to all the pleasant attentive staff we came across. Plenty to explore nearby too, sunsets on the beach especially beautiful.
