Gorkha Gaun Resort

Property is in a great location. Fantastic hospitality. Beds are comfortable and room is cozy. Staffs are well trained and nice. Recommended place if you love to relax in peaceful environment. Also, if you love hiking, you have many options to travel around.

I stayed 3 nights with my family, we thoroughly enjoyed the place . Specially the warm Hospitality of the team. Food was simple and good. Great views. Comfortable Room. A great place to get away from the hustle-bustle and enjoy some Nepali rural living also explore the rich Gorkha History. Recommended.

A wonderful stay in a peaceful place, beautifully crafted architecture referencing historical crafts. Delicious meals. Outstanding staff who go the extra mile to be helpful, well informed and friendly. Views of the hills and forests are beautiful and guided walks were wonderful. I cannot recommend Gorka Gaun highly enough. Thank you

I stayed overnight at Gorkha Gaun in the recommendation of the owner of a previous place I’d stayed in. It’s a few km from the centre of Gorkha, which was fine for me. The hotel organised a cab into town. From there I was happy to explore and make my own way back. The room was comfortable, with the largest bed I’ve ever seen in my life! A terrace and a comfy chair to sit outside would be a good idea though. No air con - just a fan. This was ok as the room didn’t get too hot. Bathroom worked well. Nice shower. Wi-Fi so-so. Not too bad. It’s hard to give an accurate review, as I was the only person staying there. It felt eerily silent, and I didn’t really like being the sole focus of attention. Clearly with a few guests and a bit of a buzz around the place, things would feel very different. But the staff were friendly, the food was good, and I enjoyed sitting out with a beer after my hike. I hope things pick up for them soon.

Beautiful place. Friendly staff. Fantastic views Food was ok. But pretty basic Breakfast meagre. Just assumed all 6 of us liked eggs. No cups / kettle / tea bags in room. They provided a flask of hot water. But no coffee or tea which seemed odd. I like a cuppa in bed to start the day Bathroom fantastic. Beds ok. Did provide second duvet as it dropped in quite cold Fantastic views in all directions So fortunate to see a village wedding Staff lovely It is very isolated. Peaceful. Apart from its right on a flight path Loved the door lock. The place has been so sensitively built. Totally blends into the area. No wine ! Six Brits booked in. No wine ! Gin? Yes we have gin. But no tonic water ! They eventually found three bottles

We stayed as a group of 7 and had a wonderful visit. The accommodations were nice and the resort has beautiful views all around. The best part of the visit was the kind and friendly staff and the delicious homemade meals that they make for guests. We only stayed one night but they made a delicious traditional Nepali dinner for us and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Thank you very much to the kind employees for making our visit a great one!

What an amazing experience! After the hustle & bustle of Kathmandu this was a welcome retreat in a breath taking location and with staff who gave excellent service. I wont repeat all the positives said by previous reviewers but fully agree with them all. If you are looking for a real taste of rural Nepal then this won't disappoint. The manager and the staff were exceptional and I only wish we had been able to stay longer.

A spectacular location with some beautiful landscaping makes up for a few minor shortfalls - the wifi signal is only really available at the reception area and the rural nature of the surroundings does encourage insects and other animals to come inside occasionally. The rooms are very simple and the bed and pillow I had were somewhat hard. However, the food was nice and we got great service from the young waitress whose name I didn't catch. Great mountain views from all over the resort, and some lovely village walks available from the reception area, which gives a good insight into rural life in the region.

Very much a surprise! This compact, ecologically designed inn/resort is majestically situated with views every way a person looks. Keshab Kunwar, who is the resort’s director, conceived the idea and worked tirelessly to make it a reality. My wife and I loved the integration of solar panels, the use of a cistern to gravity feed the water to the cottages, and the central garden from which much of their produce was harvested. Designed with growth in mind, Keshab has put much thought into all aspects of the resort. Tasty food and spacious cottages makes this a location worth adding to your travel plans.
