The room was spacious and close to shops and port. Won't stay hear again

Ondanks dat de kamer schoon was, komen wij hier op onze Engelandreizen nooit weer. De aangrenzende bar waar deze kamers bij horen zijn met een dun schot afgescheiden van elkaar, waardoor je in een verschrikkelijke herrie ligt. Er was geen stoel voor je kleding of om ontbijt te nuttigen, dat laatste bleek ook niet te hoeven, we kregen gewoon geen ontbijt. Dit terwijl wel gevraagd was op welke tijd wij het wensten ivm de boot die we in de ochtend moesten halen.

First of all, let me start by saying; At night we woke up to the sounds of mice on the ceiling of the bathroom! And we had to turn on the bathroom vent to feel better. The bar staff who gave me the key were very polite! I cannot say that the cleanliness of the bathroom is very good. The bed was short for us, I think it was 180cm or max 190cm long and the right side was almost against the wall.

Nice and near the ferry. Clean We hardly saw staff; it felt funny to leave the key and just disappear in the morning.

The room had no window ,lucky we got upgraded and had a en-suite that had a window we could leave ajar for some air. Will never stay again. Bar had little to drink other than beer. The area bring the beer garden that we had to walk through was disgusting with rubbish everywhere and bins overflowing. We only stayed as needed to get early ferry. Car also had to be parked on road.

The pillows were really tough. Multiple pillows had been stuffed into the pillow case. Also someone had vaped in the room so it felt like tobacco smoke when I woke up.

One of the two guys on the staff was really rude and unhelpful. I slept in a single room which had no bedside table, no wardrobe and no hangers. The impression was really bad. For someone who travels by bike like me, the place they make available to you is not safe. I don't recommend it at all.

Like the last person to review, I got bitten by bed bugs!! The hotel obviously knows about this problem, but chooses not to act!! I’m pretty sure they could fumigate & eradicate the problem in 1 day! I went despite the review I’d seen because honestly was hoping it wasn’t true & knew the stay was non refundable. I’m really very upset & putting in a complaint with *********** Avoid at all costs!!

Stayed four nights. The bed was made well but the room was not cleaned. Carpet needed hoovering, skid marks in the toilet and dirty floors and shelves. Got feasted on by Bed Bugs over the stay and am now trying not to scratch various areas, although the shower was good. The Breakfast was dysfunctional and you were lucky if there was any coffee left let alone a working kettle to make the tea or water to refill. Finding a member of staff is very hit and miss although when we did they were polite but slightly detached from the situation. Although in fairness they were probably there just to clean..our room must have been off the rota. We were actually locked out on our last day so had to keep banging on the doors and windows until a fellow guest let us in. I enjoyed Harwich and the surrounding area but would not recommend staying here unless you're not bothered about cleanliness and just staying overnight while travelling.
