OYO Cocketts Hotel

I've been coming to Hawes for 40 years. For the last 25 I've stayed in Cocketts. Beautiful old building, lovely food and rooms. It's now under new ownership and is better than ever. Toni and Rob could not be more welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you love old buildings, it's fantastic.

Never been to Hawes before and what a lovely village. Staying at the Cockettes Hotel and what a find. Room is beautiful (The Wenslydale) very comfortable, memory foam mattress bed, TV, Tea and Coffee facility, bathroom has bath with shower. Highly recommended.

My wife and always come to Hawes in October to celebrate her birthday always a great little hotel to stay at especially if the front bar is open .Room are lovely and breakfast extant. So if you’re looking to go to Hawes we would highly recommend the Crocketts hotel.

The staff were very welcoming and the hotel was a lovely refreshing stop with a lots of space and warmth. Along with the breakfast the morning after, which was a pleasant surprise, this hotel was well worth the price. Definitely coming back!

Bedroom was okay, but the bathroom was very small, with no space for even one persons toiletries, let alone two and the radiator was very rusty and the shower hose needs all the black mould removing. Management is very poor. When we arrived, having pre booked, we were met with a message advising us to go next door The Board, in order to book in. On doing this, we spent almost 10 minutes standing at the bar, before the bar girl deigned to stop her private conversation in order to very grudgingly deal with us. The following morning,(17th July) on going down to breakfast at 8.00, there were no free tables (the dining room does not have the capacity to deal with the number of visitors rooms available) we waited 15 minutes before a member of staff finally appeared to sort a table in another room for us. This young man was extremely helpful and very polite, but was trying to deal with numerous guests all on his own. However, when the breakfast finally it arrived it was excellent and more than well worth the wait. Given our experience, we would not use this hotel again.

Our travel agent booked 4 rooms for our party for 2 nights. The agency confirmed again 2 weeks before we arrived and have the receipts. Yet on the second day they called us telling us to move our belongings stating 3 of us were only booked for 1 night. Our travel agency worked with Cockett’s Hotel that afternoon having them correct the issue, yet at 6 PM an employee knocked on our door again telling us we had to move. Management of the hotel is poor and unorganized. This in addition to no Wi-Fi and mold in the shower.
