Hotel Villa Monte

This hotel is situated in the heart of the town, easy access and parking. The breakfast is ok, nothing more. The hotel is far too expensive for what you get. The rooms have no airco which is ok, if it weren't that opening the windows means a lot of noise. And next to the noise you invite a whole family of mosquitos. As this hotel thinks, it is ok to charge 130€ for a room with no airco and no mosquito windows. The bathroom used to be a good one in 1991. It is tiny and the towels are from microcotton as they claim. The micro part is correct... The television didn't work and casting is setup to connect to the direct wifi of the TV meaning you have no internet thus no chromecast that works. Because of profitability choices there is nobody at the reception. But the mosquitos keep you busy.

The hotel is in an ideal location, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. That said, I would strongly recommend avoiding it during the spring/summer. They do not have AC or even ventilators (no, really) in the rooms. You cannot open the windows since they do not have insect screens (no, really) and the area has a lot of mosquitoes, as others have commented. I understand that the weeks leading up to our stay had been unusually warm, however, they were not very keen on accommodating us - when asking for a ventilator, they simply said "they cannot make any promises" (see below). Putting it bluntly: during the first night, if I would have let a dog stay in my room, I could have been sued for animal endangerment. I'm not exaggerating. After multiple requests we finally got a toy fan shown in the picture (see pillow for scale). I was able to acquire a proper fan, else, we would have either had to leave or get a heat stroke.

Big problems with damp in the ground floor rooms! Mouldy window seals in bathroom and damp bedroom carpet. Breakfast very disappointing: mouldy blueberries in the yoghurt (pattern emerging here?) and same stale fruit on offer both mornings we had breakfast. Hardly the deluxe experience you think you might be in for based on website pics.

Nice hotel, good breakfast and great location. No air conditioning and no window screens, so despite the fact that we had only opened 1 window in a tilted position, after the light had been switched off, the room was still full of mosquitoes, so something could be done about that.

the room are right and the breakfast too. the problem with this hotel is that there is nobody to welcome you: just a machine for making your check-in. You must be prepared and have your booking reference or QR code with you(be sure to have internet connexion on your mobile!) I got my key card but did not see the room number during the process - I had to give a call to the "hotel" to know what was my room number. When checking my e-mail at night, I saw that I received an e-mail with the room number. so be prepared to not be welcomed in this hotel for the checking.

Rooms are good. However, the service was far from good. After a long day I came back to the hotel - willing to sleep, however, the room key didn't work. They first tried to help me by phone ( as there was no one at the hotel) but after 15 minutes that didn't work. then I had to wait for someone to come over, she couldn't fix the problem eighter so it took all together 1,5h to give me a new room and move all my stuff. I expected the hotel to compensate me with at least a free breakfast or something else. However the hotel doesn't compensate for anything.
