Hotel Helgolandia

We wanted to spend one night on Helgoland in order to avoid the daytime tourist hordes on our walk around the island. Hotel Helgolandia was centrally located and reasonably budget-friendly. It's about a 20-minute walk from the ferry port, and if you have a lot of luggage, there is a delivery option offered by the ferry service. Since check-in was not until 3 pm we had lunch at the hotel's Asian restaurant before making our way to the nearby Helgoländer Botschaft which handles the check-in and check-out for a variety of properties. Rather inconvenient when a ferry-load of visitors arrives/departs. We had an attic room up three flights of stairs, no lift. The room, though compact, was great, with a well-thought-out layout and by all appearances freshly renovated. Large windows let in plenty of daylight, although there was no view to rave about. There was only one small mirror, and this was in the bathroom which had no power outlet to plug in the supplied hair dryer. We did not pre-book breakfast, but you could have it in the restaurant downstairs. However, just a few steps away was a bakery where you could put together your own basic breakfast at much less cost. If we were to return to Helgoland we would be happy to stay again in an attic room at this hotel.

What a great little hotel . Bit strange that we had to check in at the travel agents and eat breakfast at another separate cafe but once worked out, it was all very simple and efficient. Staff were great and the hotel is above a Thai/Chinese restaurant so only met staff when open Room was very compact but had all your needed including free mini bar. Highly recommended and also included complimentary tickets on lift to higher part of the island albeit a ticket just €1

Zimmer war sehr ordentlich, die zentrale Rezeption in der „Helgoländer Botschaft“ in unmittelbarer Nähe, sehr freundliches Personal. Frühstück war „okay“.

Das Appartment war zweckmässig eingerichtet und in gutem Zustand. Leider haben die massiven Störgeräusche der Heitzungsanlage (auch nachts) den Erholungswert unseres 4-tägigen Urlaubs stark reduziert.

Wir waren über ein verlängertes Wochenende auf Helgoland. Das Zimmer ist nett und zweckmäßig. Leider war es nicht so sauber. Im Haus ist unten ein Asiarestaurant. Der Geruch der Küche zieht ins Obergeschoss in die Zimmer. Das war sehr störend. Das Personal ist leider nicht besonders gastfreundlich. Für eine Reise mit etwas kleinerem Budget ist das Hotel eine gute Alternative. Wir würden es nicht noch einmal buchen.

sehr zufrieden. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Problemlos wurden wir umgebucht, da aufgrund Wetterlage der vorhergesehene Katamaran nicht fuhr.

Man muss wissen das dass Frühstück außerhalb ist und das sich die Orte hierfür ändern aber da alles schnell erreichbar ist auf der kleinen Insel ist das auch kein Problem. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichlich Auswahl. Im TV gab es leider nur ard und mdr aber mehr gibt es ja auch kaum frei empfangbar.

Zimmer war unter dem Dach und sehr geräumig und hell. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral im Unterland. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit. Wir sind mit dem Katamaran Halunder Jet gekommen und haben das Gepäck direkt in das Hotel bringen lassen und auch dort wieder abholen lassen. Gegenüber des Hotels gibt es dort diesen Kofferservice angeboten. Dort kann man auch z. B. eine Bunkerbesichtigung buchen. Allerdings sollte man diese im August schon im Vorwegen buchen, genauso wie eine mögliche Besichtigung der Hummerstation.
