Loa´s Nest Guesthouse

Really lovely stay, Loa's is easy to find, clean and tidy with everything you need, including advice about the local area. The breakfast waffles and homemade jam are a yummy extra touch! Would definitely recommend :)

Our stay at Loa’s Nest was memorable, especially our conversation with the delightful owners, so hospitable and informative. The advertised waffles were delicious, but the menu could have been expanded a bit.

This is one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed on any trip. Very comfortable. Amazing showers. Comfortable beds. Access to amenities to cook own food and make coffee and tea. My daughter said it was the best hot chocolate ever. In morning you have awesome waffles made for you. I am excited to come visit again!

Tastefully decorated, including art pieces, especially also the towels folded beautifully. Super breakfast (fresh waffles with rhubarb jelly or other options). Friendly hosts (family business), who are interested in their guests. Super location. Well equipped kitchen. Excellent shower, en-suite bathroom. Best place we stayed in in Iceland.

This was my favorite place to stay in my ring road trip. It’s a cozy guesthouse, very clean and tidy. The landscape around was amazing. Beautiful sunrise! There is free waffles for breakfast and they were delicious. Definitely recommend it!

One of the best stay experience ever. The owner lady Unnur, her husband and entire family are so helpful and welcoming. We stayed here only for one night but wished we could stay more. We are going to recommend this property to all our friends. In fact the next chance we get to go to Iceland we will stay at Loa's Nest.

This was the best stay we had in Iceland. The building had been built by the owner for the specific purpose of a Guesthouse. Unnur, Ingi and Unnar were amazing in their welcome and caring for everyone who came to stay. Wife, husband and son. Beds were so comfortable, fridge for use of guest with identifying spots for each room number, area around so peaceful in the countryside with horses right next door. Delicious waffles and homemade Rhubarb jam. Every attention to detail was perfection. I would go back just to stay here again.

Our party consisted of six people in three rooms, and each room was warm and welcoming, a pleasant size, and with gorgeous views. The beds are comfortable, and while my pillows were not great for me, I cannot say that that is a problem of the hotel, as it is an issue I have everywhere I go. The bathrooms are a good size, and the showers are spacious, clean, and have fantastic water pressure. The kitchen and public lounge area is comfortable and conducive to conversation, and while it wasn’t until the last day of our stay here that we met our hosts, they were thoroughly friendly and welcoming. Being served cute waffles by Inge as he made them right in front of us was such a homey way to enjoy our breakfast, too. Honestly, we were gone all day and only returned to plop off to sleep, but this guesthouse made it truly feel like being at home, and we loved it. The only minor concerns one or two members of our group had were that there were no face clothes in the bathrooms, nor were there facial tissues. Quite minor issues, really. I would love to tell the world that this is a great place to stay, but part of me also wants to keep it “our wonderful secret,” it is that good.

Very clean and fresh. Rooms larger than average on Iceland, so it’s very price worthy compared to other places we stayed at. Very kind and friendly staff. Thanks for having us!
