Wendover Arms Hotel

I am reviewing the parking and property management company the Wendover Arms hotel use to monitor there car park. I was dropping off my partners son who was booked into the hotel. I failed to register my car as the signs were not noticeable . I received a parking penalty charge of £100. Although i appealed, the parking company nor the hotel were interested and i had to pay the charge. The parking and property management company are only out to make money and not working in the interest of the hotel. Beware

stayed several times before on this visit the tv was broken and on advising recption we were asked what we were going to do ? Reversing that question and putting it straight back to hotel staff then eventually the room was changed. gave a stale taste if honest as was uncomfortable

Firstly the positives The hotel has a good location, plenty of free parking (register your registration however) and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel looks to be undergoing some refurbishment and the block I stayed in is relatively new (some fittings were left on thr floor in the block. Some comments on this 1) hallways need clear signs to direct you to the correct floor for your room 2) rooms - I stayed in 19, some points for improvement - no furniture in room, could do with a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a bedside cabinet, and a chair - I ended up having to put my stuff on the second bed, not possible if there are two of you. No plug sockets near kettle area - ended up balancing kettle on radiator No shaver socket in bathroom Mismatched cups and poor presentation of coffee/tea items No bath mat for shower. Would suggest not putting soaps in paperboxes inside the shower cubicle storage area - end up getting wet Food - No restaurant currently active on site

Room needed decorating bland walls with child’s pencil scribble on the walls . No breakfast I thought I had booked . Staff were cheerful helpful and professional.

Lovely hotel and lovely location with shop close by and a lovely little pub tehrr too for people to enjoy its easy to find and very close to the station and the new build is very nice just wish rooms were cooler

Filthy disgusting hotel, place is falling apart, staff rude and unhelpful and watch out for when they sting you on the car park with charges after you have left, best part of the hotel was leaving, would advise people to stay well away, car park was cleaner than inside

This is a suburban pub/takeaway with bedrooms. We stayed here for one night - never to be repeated. My room was ok but pretty basic. We asked for a menu and were given plastic sheets with a load of strangely named burgers on it. However as we didn't want the 15 minute walk to the nearest restaurant we had no choice. The only space downstairs is the bar, with a load of people drinking. Takeaway drivers were coming and going and between them the cook would come out bringing food to people eating in the bar. Ours arrived after about 20 minutes and were surprisingly reasonable, wrapped in tin foil and a paper bag of chips. We retreated from the noise and retired to a bedroom to eat while we watched TV - not a good way to spend Saturday night. They don't do breakfast. The car park is a small piece of sloping unmade ground. Altogether an unforgettable experience - for all the wrong reasons

Dreadful Hotel. They gave me a parking ticket for no reason in an empty car park. Cost more than the awful room. Noisy and rude staff Stick to Travel lodge at least all is usually good there Found hairs in the bathroom and floor had bits on. No welcome or hello when walk through to rooms .

Spent two unfortunate days in this hotel. Nothing about the experience was positive except the front desk guy was somewhat ok. Rooms are small, bathrooms are terrible (toilet seat broken), bathroom vanity basin was so tiny there is no place to put any toiletries. Beds were very uncomfortable. There was no fridge. Place has no lifts so have fun carrying large bags and finally forget breakfast, no option exists. Always like to see the positive in things so at least the location is good. Basically over priced compared everything so clearly the owner is trying to get out as much as he can for no investment. Stay away.
