Photos don't tell the real story of this accomodation. My brother and sister in-law stayed in one of the cabins/motel rooms. There was considerable mould in the shower, the shower curtain was moulding along the bottom seam, the curtains were barely hanging on the curtain rail, the overhead light fitting did not work, and there was nowhere to hang clothes and barely anywhere to put the kettle and there was no toaster. In the middle of winter all they had was a doona - no blankets. The staff were not helpful and it was made clear that they preferred cash over eftpos, which I can only assume was to avoid taxation. Personally, I have visited Hill End many times and love the area, but for my brother and sister in law, this accomodation was a very poor example of country hospitality. I would not recommend this accomodation to others.

Well this was a most pleasant surprise! Given that Hill End is only a tiny village with only a pub and a couple of touristy shops, the range of accommodation and customer facilities at Hill End Lodge was fantastic! Although slightly out of town (a little bit out of walking distance) it is only a 5 min. drive to the Pub (the focal point of town). Some more things that were outstanding at the lodge - the dinner served at. th lodge is 'not to be missed', the excellent wine range is uniquely arranged and, by comparison, very reasonably priced. Breakfast is included in the tariff. The rooms are clean and large and beds very cosy. And amazingly the host (John) has only three staff to help run the Lodge, an amazing feat when you experience the overall benefits this delightful oasis offers.

Booked a cabin a couple of weeks before but when we got there the woman at reception said none of the cabins have been cleaned that’s not good when they have already taken the payment from my bank account even before we turned up how badly is this place run so they wouldn’t give me a refund but put us in a standard room when I asked the owner about this he answer was I can’t get staff to work here that’s not my problem Keep away from this place they will just rip you of

stayed at Hillend lodge NSW. place inside was very dirty, when was last time it was cleaned, I had wipe every surface down. there was hair left in the shower. the walls are paper thin, I had two lots of noisey people either side of me. my last night I couldn't get to sleep till 12.30 am and then the rooster woke me up a 4.30am. my friends got an up-grade and they were futher away from people and the rooster. it was not worth the money. the owner was nice person to talk to.

We were in Room 10, far enough away from the dining room not to have internet but we didn't mind. Internet was strong down in dining room. Our room was large and very comfortable. Bed and pillows great. AC worked really well against the humidity. We enjoyed dinner each night on site, the food was tasty and well presented. The continental breakfast was complimentary, with hot items at cost.
Would recommend.

We loved our stay at Hill End Lodge.
The room was large, bed very comfortable with tea & coffee facilities in our room.
The host was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee’s, the evening meal was delicious.
The Lodge is set in beautiful bush surroundings, such a pleasure to be greeted in the mornings by the in house chook & roaster, parrots and rosellas.
Highly recommend you stay, when visiting Hill End at gorgeous historical town.

Loved our time at Hill End Lodge. It was a real gem and accidental find for us. Such an awesome place with great owners and lovely girls helping. The rooms were good and the restaurant meals beautiful. Easy going and friendly. Such an amazing achievement to the owners to build the whole place from scratch. Can’t wait to come back and visit.

I cant speak highly enough about our stay. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, our room was fabulous and the food from the restaurant is divine. We stayed two nights and the grounds are lovely, the shower is instantaneous, its peaceful and quiet and we were treated like family. I would return in a heartbeat- it felt like a home away from home. We had a very relaxed stay. Close to town - we rode our bikes in and out of town.
