Tam Coc Central Bungalow - Hostel

This Hostel is average in a good way. It was scenic and comfy. It was quiet with not many people around. We stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm for two nights and then a single private room for the last night. The bathroom was not too nice in the dorm room and we were reluctant to shower but a lot better and nicer in the private room. Both bathrooms were clean and tidy. The Central Bungalow staff and family lived in the common area and felt like they were dominating the space as sometimes they would sleep on the furniture, however this was not to bad but it was an observer my group and another group indipendantly commented on. The bar looked closed and when my friend asked for a meal from the restaurant the chef was reluctant to cook it for her. Upon arriving to Tam Coc, we were deciding between Central Bungalow and the Banana hostel. We should've chosen the Banana hostel as there were many more people creating a better atmosphere in the common areas. It was closer to the main shops/food too. On the last night our group of three actually went to the Banana hostel for a cocktail and dinner and it was great. We wished we stayed here. There is nothing wrong with the Central Bungalow, it was cheap, scenic and the staff were nice and acomodating. I will give it 4/5 stars. My group just wished for more of an atmosphere so next time we will stay at Banana. FYI we visited late December 2023.

This hostel was just perfect. It felt safe, the rooms were spacious, facilities excellent, beds comfy. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend this hostel

The place was very nice and comfortable, gave a feeling of luxury for a really cheap prize! The pool was nice and the staff were so sweet and helpful! Gave us each a bottle of water for free when we left. The breakfast was included and really tasty! The place is located in a good spot :)

This hostel was very nice. Great price and feels very luxury with a nice pool and stuff. They had towels and bed sheets. Also breakfast was included in the good prise. I would definitely recommend this place to backpackers!

We had the loveliest stay here. The setting was beautiful, the rooms and bathrooms were clean, the included breakfast was delicious and the staff were amazing! They helped us with things to do, motorbike rentals and booking buses and even gave us free water and snacks for our journey! The private rooms are stunning- would 100% stay here again!

They are renting out the bike we got into a serious accident with. The owner Ruby has only got money on her mind and has no regard for anyone's safety. We were given broken bikes (The brakes completely broken and the engine would overheat and turn off randomly) which caused us to get into a serious accident. I called the owner (ruby) immediately after, and though my friend was on her way to the hospital, unconscious with severe injuries, her main and first concern was with the bike. She even tried to call my unconscious friend about money as she was in hospital, only a couple hours after the accident. She not only disregarded the well-being of any of us but continued for 2 days to insult, lie and blame us. She BLACKMAILED us by illegally WIT-HOLDING our PASSPORT, even though we were trying to reason that we were willing to pay. Eventually she agreed to paying half on the condition we leave a good review. She then wrote out a fake legal contract and made my friend sign saying that we won’t write a bad review whilst posting racist comments on Facebook about me. She made the extremely traumatic situation a lot more difficult and extremely stressful. The only good thing about this hostel is it's location as it's rat infested and the breakfasts awful
