Ibis Budget Dortmund Airport

Very difficult to find taxi. Bad service.

This seems to be the only hotel in walking distance of the airport and with an early flight it was something like "Hobson's choice", Reading the reviews I was quite concerned and if the hotel was really bad we would have sat up all night in the airport. So what was it actually like on 24th October 2023? Well fine! We were met with a warm welcome and a smile by a nice friendly lady on reception when we booked in at 8:30pm. The key code to the door worked. The room was clean and everything worked ( well - no sink plug!). Water was hot, shower worked well, room was warm, location is quiet. Only downside was the single very thin pillow. There are no "built in" USB ports in the room and no kettle which I guess I expected. Morning check out was swift and we were seen off with a cheery "auf Wiedersehen!" We had breakfast at MacDoos (7-am opening) on the way to the airport (10/15 min walk). Dortmund Ibis Budget hotel seems to have used the same designer cues as NHS hospitals so Brits will feel right at home. Conclusion: Fine for an overnighter for an early flight, the undoubted problems reported earlier seem to have been addressed.

The first room we got didn’t have light in the toilet. They tried to fix it and finally we got another room. We had to leave early the next morning and we asked for an early breakfast at 6 AM. This was no problem, but at 6AM, nothing to be seen. So we had to leave without breakfast we payed for. On top of that they succeeded in charging the room an breakfast twice. Unless you have no other option, don’t stay at this hotel.

Overall, it was not a bad room… it had everything basic, but it was very small and the hotel also. I paid 53€, which is way higher than a 10/12m2 room. Other than the price, I had everything for my 6 hours sleep before my flight. The women at the desk didn’t found my booking, but two days after, my first purchase was refunded, so I payed only one room. Nothing special, that’s why I think 50€+ are expensive. Also there is nothing working in the area, other than one gas station and a ******, if I remember right. So, buy your own food, because there is only one vending machine.

At first I thought that the hotel was closed and abandoned as the garden was exceedingly overgrown! I suggest prompt action here. Service was polite friendly and professional. The room fulfilled my expectations for this price: clean and simple.

Unser Check-in war zunächst unkompliziert. Wir kamen zwar kurz nach 22 Uhr an, doch man hat uns freundlich empfangen und wir bekamen unseren Türcode. Unser Zimmer war sauber und in Ordnung. Gegen 23 Uhr jedoch trafen wir unseren Zimmernachbar mit Kleinkind an, der verzweifelt versuchte, seine Tür zu öffnen – sein Code schien nicht zu funktionieren. Dass es keinen 24h Empfang bei einem Budgethotel gibt ist vollkommen in Ordnung, jedoch KEINE Notfallhotline für solche Fälle zu haben, ist eine Katastrophe. (zumindest ist keine Nummer in den Fluren / dem Eingangsbereich auffindbar und online erst recht nicht). Die Haus-Telefonnummer führte zu einem Anrufbeantworter, und alle anderen Ibis Hotels in Dortmund wimmelten uns unhöflich ab, die Ibis Hotels hätten ja nichts miteinander zu tun und eine Hotline gäbe es auch nicht . Nach einer Stunde Rütteln und Drücken schafften wir es, die Tür zu öffnen – es lag wohl daran, dass der Rahmen verzogen war. Wie stellen Sie sich das vor, falls es mal einen "richtigen" Notfall geben sollte?

Als Stammkunde immer freundlich begrüßt, alles seit Jahren auf gleichem Niveau, nie wurden Probleme festgestellt und das seit Jahren. Die Zimmer sind bei der Preisklasse für Monteure völlig ausreichend.

Когда я заехала в отель моей ранее оплаченой резервации не оказалось. Пришлось платить за заселение ещё 60 евро. Мне дали емайл на который я должна была отправить все документы, чтобы вернуть переплаченные деньги. Доставка емайл не состоялась, они были отклонены! Как все хитро продумано и рассчитано на иностранцев. Мой адвокат получит дело! Не советую связываться с ними!!! Ужас и обман!
