Royal Island Resort

The location is good and beautiful, but the access from Male Airport is pretty bad and hotel kept us wait at the airport for quite long. They only have 2 flight in one day and they never tell us the exact time previously. The facility is not bad though.

It has been an unforgettable experience! Everything has been perfect, both the treatment with the staff, very, very friendly, attentive, polite and always with a smile and eager to solve any customer's questions or problems. The landscape is spectacular. Our little house in front of the beach has been a dream come true. We disconnected, we enjoyed nature, we also went on an excursion and it was impressive. The restaurant's food also deserves a 10, delicious, very varied and the staff very attentive and dedicated. Thank you very much to the entire team for making it possible, I hope we can return one day!

Ho soggiornato con la famiglia dal 22 al 29 dicembre 2023 presso il Royal Island Resort, che si trova nell’Atollo di Baa, patrimonio dell’Unesco come Riserva Mondiale della Biosfera. Un vero e proprio paradiso. La struttura può ospitare al max 350 persone ed è sufficientemente estesa per avere relax e privacy. L’isola è meravigliosa sia per fare il bagno nella laguna, sia per fare snorkeling presso il reef facilmente raggiungibile. Reef ricchissimo di coralli e di pesci: senza fare escursioni, lungo il lato nord (a destra e sinistra del pontile principale di attracco) abbiamo visto squali, razze e tarataruga. A livello di laguna il lato migliore è quello a nord-ovest: un mare indescrivibile (Villas da 210 a 223). Villas in legno sulla spiaggia in stile maldiviano. Palestra ben attrezzata, campo da calcio, da beach volley, da tennis, da squash e badminton al chiuso: tutte attività libere. Sport acquatici (moto, ski, jet blade) a pagamento. Non sono economici ma ne vale la pena. Idem le escursioni. Siamo in paradiso! Il ristorante principale presenta grande varietà e ottima qualità: tutto molto buono, dalla colazione al pranzo fino alla cena. Veramente molto buono il cibo, ineccepibile. Mia moglie e mia figlia sono celiache e avevano sempre varie alternative…oltre a poter fare richieste ad hoc di piatti gluten-free (pan-cake, muffin, pane, pizza, noodles, cake…). Cena di Natale incredibile per quantità e qualità. Uno spettacolo. Lo staff e’ incredibile: riservato e rispettoso, mai invadente, ma sempre pronto a coccolare e viziare il cliente. Sempre sorridenti e sempre pronti a soddisfare richieste o risolvere problemi. Ti fanno sentire veramente in paradiso! Devo menzionare alcuni di loro che hanno contribuito a rendere la nostra vacanza di Natale un sogno. Prasad, il nostro host, riservatissimo e discreto, mai invadente, ma sempre disponibile per richieste o problemi e super efficiente (il volo domestico al ritorno era in ritardo e abbiamo rischiato di perdere l’aereo da Male a Doha, ma lui ha organizzato nostro prelievo direttamente in posta per velocizzare check-in e imbarco). Zubair, il cameriere della ns area al ristorante, si è preso cura di noi ogni giorno ad ogni pasto…imparando prestissimo i ns gusti e facendoci trovare la tavola pronta di quei piccoli dettagli che fanno la differenza. Chef Madeleine, la regina del grill, dolcissima, sempre sorridente, ogni giorno grigliava pesce o carne in modo perfetto…e cucinava i noodles di riso gluten-free per mia figlia Alice Damith, il pasticcere, gentilissimo, che mi ha viziato preparandomi buonissimi sorbetti al limone …oltre a cucinare numerosi dolci squisiti e ad allestire una tavola di frutta buonissima. Mithila, il maitre, persona eccezionale e grandissimo professionista, ci ha coccolato ogni giorno, soddisfacendo ogni nostro desiderio, soprattutto di Alice, pizza gluten-free inclusa. Con grande rispetto e discrezione era sempre presente e pronto ad ascoltare ma senza mai essere invadente.

First time visiting Maldives. We chose ROYAL ISLAND RESORT for its simplicity and its true connection with nature : UNESCO BIOSPHERE RESERVE. We were not disappointed at all. We enjoyed 100% our trip with scuba diving, chilling, fishing and of course eating ! A great variety of food proposed in the hotel, including many exotics fresh fruits et juices. The Raabondhi restaurant was so much appreciated that we booked there twice ! Many thanks to the staffs and employees for their kindness and warm hospitality! Special thanks to : Kath our guide, the Spa Team and her manager, the waitresses of Raabondhi and at the lounge (especially Saniaka, the Nepalese with her lovely smile), Habib the obliging waiter, Damith the kind “fruit guy”, our “cleaning” man. We had such a wonderful time there! ♥️ This was the best vacation ever! We celebrated our honeymoon there. Where to begin ... Overall it was a very pleasant experience. We were staying in cute Beach villa with lots of privacy. The staff and service was excellent! Very friendly and they were always looking for solutions. We want to thank Kath, who was always quickly responsive to our requests and took care of us all the time. When my husband needed medical help, it was arranged so professionally and they dedicated so much time to his problems, with tranquility and genuine interest in him. Special thanks goes to Dr. Angkan and nurse Vimala. Mithail in restaurant was so caring, he always checked if my husband feels better. He even brought him extra soup, cooked only for him, which was not on the menu, and coconut water with electrolites to feel better! Kavya was always at the front door of the restaurant to welcome us with big smile. We loved eating breakfast and dinner accompanied by positive and optimistic Kishore. Razis and Neyan took care about our villa, room keeping cleaned the villa twice a day! And surprised us with such a lovely bed decorations, even manta ray. Now, at home, we still talk about this vacation and we miss extraordinary food we ate there. Thanks to chefs Madeleine, Mahesh, Damith, whose food melted in our mouth! I loved their Padang and shrimps in sweet chilli sauce. There was always such a big choice and many international cuisine options to choose! If you are looking for rest and tranquility, go for this vacation. It's so worth it! ♥️ It's a beautiful and calm area with good preserved underwater world. Do snorkeling everyday and relax all your senses. So much to see there, only in front of your door! We daily saw baby sharks, bigger sharks, manta ray, all beautiful colorful fish ... Resort is led with respect to nature and island's inhabitants. We didn't see any disadvantage there. We felt like at home there. Atmosphere there is so homey, laid-back and easy, but at the same time, staff is so well organized and professional, that there is nothing you could miss there - everything needed is always provided. We strongly recommend Royal Island Resort, it's heaven on Earth!

Didnt expect that it will be such a nice trip. Very helpful and nice service. They were very kind and brought help any time I needed it. Nice beaches with reefs. Amazing that we could play tennis and other sports and it was included. They also surprised us on my friend’s birthday with beautiful decoration in room

How convenient it is to have such a wonderful marine life just outside the bedroom, it is like going for an excursion without moving from the hotel. The island is absolutely gorgeous and most of all, the staff is fantastic. Thank you to everyone, especially to Nipun who has been taking care of us from the check in to the check out. Great variety of food, many activities, perfect cleaning of the room twice a day etc...It was paradise.
