Phuket Hosteller

My initial thought on this accommodation business is in some ways positive. If it is viewed purely as a 'hostel' with an associated coffee shop, then it definitely has attributes (and I'll come back to those later). But if taken at face value on the basis of its tariff cost and amenities, both real and indicated, then there are several problems with it. The first is the way the premises is represented on the Trip com platform. Photographs of the double bedroom include one of a bathroom. The attached text description and its context makes the plain implication that the room has an ensuite bathroom, which it does not. If little scrutiny is applied when reading the description, this fact will escape the readers attention. Anyone looking to make a reservation quickly can easily be misled (inadvertently?) into believing that this is a 'hotel' style room. Many hostels do offer rooms with ensuite bathrooms after all. The bathroom is communal and is inconveniently located on the ground floor. Rooms are above this. A second related criticism is the room size description - 18 m sq is quoted. The room has dimensions of 3 x 3.5 m. That is, about 10 m sq ! Although late February is still peak season in Phuket, it has to be said that the room tariff of almost $60 AUD per night is exorbitant. It may be considered acceptable for a 18 m sq hotel style room, given the circumstances, but a room of this kind at this particular locality ought to be offered at a lower price. Having said this, I concede that the reservation was made late and in haste. Now onto the good things. The 10 m sq double bed room has old but high quality wooden furniture which serves its purpose well. The air conditioning is responsive and strong There is a large kitchen next to the bathroom/wash basin (trough). It's equipped with a large fridge, sink, cutlery etc as well as a coffee maker ( + ground coffee). A delicious banana cake was offered to guests. Clothes can be washed and dried via a coin operated machine. Other attributes include the woman owner/ manager who has a professional approach and an attitude very well suited to the hospitalality jndustry. The coffee shop also makes decent coffees and ham n cheese croissants.

Otel, ünlü Eski şehir Phuket'in hemen yanında yer almaktadır. Otelin hemen yanında ihtiyacınız olan her şeyi satın alabileceğiniz bir alışveriş merkezi bulunmaktadır. Bazen otelin önünde bir gece pazarı vardır, bu nedenle burada gürültülü olabilir. Ancak çok iyi yemekler, müzik ve her türlü hediyelik eşya vardır. Odada ücretsiz su ve atıştırmalıklar vardı. Bir plaj tatili için Patong, Kata veya Karon'da bir otel rezervasyonu yaptırmak daha iyidir. Plajlara otobüs veya taksiyle de ulaşılabilse de akşamları Phuket şehrine geri dönmek zor olabilir.

The mattress was comfortable, but sadly the top middle beds are not the best place to put tall people (as they will inevitably hit beams with their head). Also, the electricity socket in my bed wasnt sturdy enough to hold a charger in place, so i had to improvize with putting a bag and a cap as the base, so it wouldnt be following out. AC in the rooms is turned off between 11:30 and 16:30, fyi. In terms of other facilities, everything else seemed spacious enough. Actually so spacious that i think the architect could have put additional toilets in the bathroom, as two didnt seem to be enough for the 1st floor (30ish people?). There were however 3 urinals, most awkwardly placed near the always opened doors, and sinks used by everyone (the bathroom is unisex). It would have made sense to get rid of these, and rather have another toilet. As for showers, there are three. Water pressure was fine, even if it was hard to get truly warm/hot water. Shower gel/shampoo available, as well as necessary hooks to hang your stuff. Breakfast was a simple scrambled egg with a slice of toast and butter, cabbage salad with mayonnaise, and a cheap sausage. Fine to start a day, but not so fulfilling. Coffee and tea available at breakfast, water throughout the day. You can also use the kitchen to make your own lunch or dinner. In the lobby and outside, quite a few areas to hang out and chill. If you wanted to play pool, thats 20 baht. Board games were for free. Top floor has washing machines (50 baht per load) and a dryer (10 for 5 min), but i think you would have to spend quite some time there reloading the coins. After 2 turns that didnt dry much, i hanged my laundry on limited hanging space, but beware if you do that, as it can be windy, and many clothes were flying around. The staff is approachable and hospitable, even if their basic level of English can lead to quite a few misunderstandings, as I witnessed.

Great location. Free coffee and water refill. Also make your own breakfast ( toast and jam) free 😀 Good value. Bunks were private ( with curtains) and own light and power outlet and also large personal locker with key. Quite secure. No complaints here 👍

Resepsiyon görevlisinin bana bir anahtarlık hediyesi vermesiyle (bunu tüm misafirlere yapıp yapmadıklarından emin değilim) ve 10/10 puan vermem için yazılı bir ricayla güzel bir jestle bitse bile, ne yazık ki Marco Polo Poshtel'in küçültülmüş bir versiyonu gibi görünen bu hostelin eksikliklerini görmezden gelemedim (hangisi önce geldi emin değilim ama kahvaltıdan ”komik” duvar mesajlarına kadar her yerde benzer bir ”yaratıcı” imza vardı). İlk başta hostelin temizliğinden bahseden yorumlar ilgimi çekse de, aynı fikirde olduğumu söyleyemem. Bazı ortak alanlar oldukça dağınıktı. Birinci kata çıkan merdiven (ayakkabı giymenin yasak olduğu yer) bir süredir temizlenmemiş gibiydi. Duşlarda (su basıncı iyiydi) küf vardı. Tek banyodaki üç el sabunluğunun hiçbirinde sabun yoktu. Sadece personelin her şeyi çalışır durumda tutmak için zamanı veya organizasyon becerisi olmadığını hissettim. Ama en çok şaşırdığım şey, yatağımda temiz olmayan (buna ”kullanılmış” demek istemiyorum) bir yatak örtüsü bulmam oldu. Üzerinde birkaç yeni leke, saç ve kırıntı vardı (sadece yatak örtüsünde değil) ve benden önceki misafirden sonra katlanmış gibiydi (katlama bile berbattı, bu yüzden yatağın unutulmuş olabileceğini düşündüm). Kat hizmetlilerinden değiştirmelerini istediğimde, başta onayladılar. Genç hizmetli çarşaf dahil her şeyi değiştirmeye başladı (ki bence yatağın tamamen değiştirilip değiştirilmediğinden emin olunmadığında iyi bir yöntem), ancak yaşlı hizmetli geri döndüğünde çarşafı (o esnada yere atılan çarşafı) geri koymasını istedi ve bu arada sürekli güldü. Hayır, bu gerçekten komik değildi. Sonra genç hizmetlinin getirdiği yeni yatak örtüsünü takmasına izin vermek yerine, yaşlı hizmetlinin şikayet ettiğim eski yatak örtüsüne benzeyen bir şey getirdiğini fark ettim (yorgan zaten içindeydi). Bunun yeni bir şey olup olmadığını sorduğumda, beni yeni olduğuna ikna etmeye çalıştı. O anda kendimi alay konusu olmuş gibi hissettim. Ama ”tamam, madem öyle diyorsun” dedim. Her şey bittikten sonra yatağıma döndüm, yatak örtüsünü açtım ve şüphemi doğruladım - tüm bu yatağı değiştirme gösterisi, onlar hiçbir şey değiştirmeden! Tek fark, bu arada çarşafın da yerde olmasıydı. Bu beni gerçekten sinirlendirdi, çoğunlukla yüzüme yalan söyledikleri için (neden?) ve çoğunlukla her şeyi ”değiştirmek” için enerji harcadıkları için, aslında her şeyi çıkarıp geri koydukları için (neden? Bunu gerçekten yapmak aynı miktarda enerji gerektiriyor). Kendimi ***** gibi hissettiğimden, sorunun ne olduğunu sordum. Temiz yatak takımları yok mu, yoksa ne? Ama vardı. O zaman bana vermelerini istedim ve yatağı kendim memnuniyetle hazırlardım. Kabul ettiler. Güldüm. Bilmiyorum, o kötü kahvaltı, görsel karmaşa, hostel girişindeki hoş olmayan ”tuvalet” kokusu ve genel olarak düşük temizlik seviyesi (yastık kılıfını kendiniz çıkardığınızda yastığın ne kadar sarı olduğunu görebilirsiniz), lekesiz hijyenden bahseden diğer yorumların yanıltıcı olduğunu hissettim. Yoksa standartlarım mı çok yüksekti? Her neyse, burada geçirdiğim ay boyunca Phuket'te bir düzine hostelde kaldım ama hiçbiri zekâma hakaret etmeye çalışmadı. Daha iyi yerler var ve hayır, Dorm Hostel ne yazık ki 10/10'u hak etmiyor, çıkışta herkese söyledikleri talepten de anlaşılacağı gibi. Ayrıca hostelin iyileştirilmesi için de yer bırakmaya çalıştım, bu yüzden en düşük puanlar yerine, deneyim gerçekten ortalamanın altında olsa bile ortalama puanlar verdim. Not: Bir misafir Phuket'in her yerine servis hizmeti veren bir feribotun çalışıp çalışmadığını sorduğunda, gerçekten yardımcı olacak bir cevap ”evet” olurdu. ”Hayır, sadece bizim hostelimiz servis hizmeti veriyor” değil. Herkesin sadece para kazanmaya çalıştığını anlıyorum, ancak bu, sadece güvenip bilgi isteyen misafirleri yanıltarak yapılmamalı.

Bir gecelik konaklama için harika bir yer, oda büyüktü ve iyi bir kliması vardı. Ancak, konum her yere biraz yürüme mesafesinde ama bu bölgede otantik yerel yemekler var. Bunun yakınlarda çeşitli saatlerde ezan okuyan bir cami olduğunu unutmayın (ve bunu yüksek sesle ve net bir şekilde duyacaksınız!). Ayrıca temizlik de en iyisi değil, buzdolabı alanının etrafında böcekler vardı ve banyo biraz kirliydi.

I really loved the place! It is SSOOOOOO clean! I wanted to stay longer. It is near 7 Eleven (which is common in Thailand.😀😄) It is also ear the airport. One guest told me he walked from the airport to the hostel, and I wish I did the same. Haha. I took the bus which was near the domestic departure area. It cost 100 baht. Anyway, I walked from the hostel to Nai Yang Beach and Sirinat National Park to get a short glimpse of the beach! I really loved it. Here are some suggestions I'd like to make: 1) Make the signage outside bigger especially for those who'll be arriving at night. I arrived at 7pm and struggled to find on Google Maps where the hostel was. It took me 15 minutes to walk back and forth before I saw I was standing in front of it! Lol. It's beside Wyndham Royal Lee Phuket. 2) The bar was closed on the night I stayed, so that's a good thing. Maybe do something about the loud music just in case, so that guests will have a good sleep especially those who have an early flight/travel schedule. 3) I couldn't find a female dorm and male dorm option, so I assume all rooms are mixed dorms for men and women. I would suggest working on having a female dorm and a male dorm separately. I was a bit nervous at first when it was only me and a guy in the room, then luckily another guy arrived. I was about to book a nearby hotel for 350 baht because I wasn't comfortable and would've been unable to sleep had the second male guest not arrived. Other than those, this hostel is PERFECT! *nice and welcoming staff *shower with shampoo and soap (which I never experienced in my former hostel stays in Malaysia and Laos) *clean toilets with tissue *cabinet with towel and key (I had to pay for my towel use in Laos) *locker with key *really nice living room with free water and tissue (Again, never experienced this in other hostels.) Oh I still have so many good things to say about the place! I'll definitely come back to enjoy the beach more. Thank you so much! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

Great location, rooms are tidy and clean, no smell (humidity/mould), manager is nice. The one problem that I had, bathroom was dirty, ground was hairy, pipe was blocked with lots of hair. we checked in very late with a last minute booking, I guess they prepared room (it was clean and sheets, towels was very ok) and forgot bathroom to clean

Отличный хостел, очень близко к Старому городу, хорошие комнаты, розетки-освещение у каждой кровати, полотенца выдают, есть большое пространство для посиделок на первом этаже со столиками и диванчиками, если нужно поработать,то там прям супер-удобно, и на втором этаже есть небольшая общая зона. Все понравилось
