Hotel Velsen

很不錯的體驗，一個酒店該有的都有，這家酒店五個月前換了老闆，新的老闆非常熱情，非常好，如果下次來荷蘭我很想繼續住在這。

I booked my room on Tuesday 29th of November for stay from December 1st to December 31st 2022, requesting not to have to use stairs. On Thursday I got an email to offer online checkin and no mentioning of stairs! When I arrived on Thursday December 1st I had to climb a steep staircase and arrived on the first floor completely out of breath. ( I have COPD and arthritic knees cannot really take stairs) only to be told by a female employee that she only saw the request re stairs this afternoon, as her colleague did not tell her. Not my problem and too easy to blame others. Nothing should have stopped her to email or call my phone with a Dutch number to tell me that there were some very steep staircases to take. She did manage to change rooms with a guest to give me a room on the ground explaining that if I came back late at night I would have to use the main entrance and hence climb up and down those dreadful stairs. After all the travel and having no idea where to go instead I unfortunately accepted. When asked if they served breakfast I was told not anymore. After she showed my basic, but adequate room, she said that she had to hurry to prepare breakfast for the next morning!!!!! When I returned from work on Friday December 2nd at 16:15 I had to use the main entrance and climb those stairs even though I was told that I would only have to do this late at night. I left the hotel there and then!. I was charged over 2000 Euros: a lot of money to lose for the hotel and for me but my safety (the stairs are a death trap for people with my condition) and well-being comes first! I am profoundly disgusted by the attitude of that female employee. I wrote to the hotel on December 3rd and have not received an answer. 2000€ for a room only accommodation is outrageous and I am now staying at 4 star hotel for 2600€ and the rooms are no comparisons, lifts, restaurant and breakfast boxes for early birds….. perfect.

We came upon this hotel when booking a last minute trip to the beach in the area. First impressions: friendly staff, cute room even though the main light wasn't working and it's a bit too small but it was okay for one night. Great location and loads of restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately there was a music festival which went on way beyond midnight ; post which the bars at the corner played loud music and the streets had loads of customers until 3.30 a.m. at least . We couldn't keep the windows open and suffered in the summer heat..also the constant noise carried through the closed windows too. We had a restless, sleepless night and I'm shocked the city and the restaurant are okay with the noise ..I'm all for people having a good time but I wonder how the residents living in the area feel . One cannot expect a customer to give them a positive rating when they couldn't sleep at all. That's the whole purpose of booking a hotel room; to sleep! If the bars are so annoying, maybe install super strong windows and an air conditioner. I would have gladly come back to this hotel but sadly wont and highly dissuade you from booking a room here in the peak season at least.

Komen toe en zien 2 deuropeningen van het hotel, één privé links en één open rechts. In de deuropening rechts is de ingang van een Grieks restaurant, links hangt een gordijn. voor ons is een trap en daarachter 2 deuren... WC dus. Plots komt een Chinees persoon van de trap en mijn echtgenote gaat mee naar de 1e verdieping voor de inschrijving waar het bureau en de ontbijtzaal zijn. We krijgen een kamertje op de 2e verdieping met een lange gang en een zestal trappen naar beneden. Het is daar een kluwen van trappen naar beneden en terug naar boven. Aan de ingang is een glazen lift, goed voor 2 personen, maar bedenkelijk zeer oud, waarvan de achterkant de ruit stuk is en vervangen door een geel gekruist lint. Opmerkelijk moet je de knop van de gewenste verdieping blijven indrukken tot hij er is of hij valt stil bij het loslaten. We komen in onze kleine kamer, 2 één persoonsbedden, een kleine nachttafel middenin en een vuil hoekplankje onder de opgehangen TV. De badkamer lijkt proper maar is plakkerig. Die plakkerigheid heeft men overal in het hotel aan leuningen enz...De wifi valt regelmatig uit! GSM-bereik nihil. We bestellen een ontbijt voor morgenvroeg. Het ontbijt staat in de koelkast met 2 boterthammen, enkele sneden ham en kaas, enkele radijsjes, een hardgekookt ei, een appel, 2 kadetjes (soort broodje), een fruitsapje, yoghurtje en dat alles in een papieren zak. Er staan er kartonnen bekertjes bij van blijkbaar een moderne recente drankenverdeler : koffie (2 soorten), cacao, soepje, en warm water. We nemen koffie, maar er komt juist water uit, 2e soort koffie, weer water, dus geen koffie. Bij gebrek duwen we op cacao en hoera, we hebben toch iets warm voor te drinken bij ons ontbijt. Die jonge Chinees was er niet, maar daar waren 2 oudere Chinezen, maar die spraken niets anders dan Chinees! Een tijdje later kwam de jongere Chinees (waarvan wij denken dat hij de beheerder is). Hij opende de koffiemachine maar er was niets mis binnenin, deed het weer dicht en de koffie was er weer. Onze goesting was al over! We hadden geboekt voor 2 nachten, maar na wat bij hen een ontbijt zou zijn en al de rest (vuil, slechte wifi, geen GSM-bereik, slecht ontbijt) hebben we de 2e nacht niet gedaan en zijn uit het hotel vertrokken. Uiteraard kunnen wij fluiten naar een terugbetaling en wat met de brandveiligheid? Nooit meer, een schande! Wel één positief punt! De honden mogen binnen!
