Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park

Very nice hotel, near the most beautiful long stretch of beach that has lots of friendly lorokeets and chipmunks that you can feed. Lots on for kids at this hotel, slides were fab. Buffet was always very nice, fresh show cooking was fabulous! Highly recommend the fresh tuna and breakfast pancakes. We will stay here again when we next go to Fuerteventura.

There are two Sister Hotels next to each other. Confusingly one is called Gaviotas Park, the other formerly Playa Gaviotas Park is now Waves Gaviotas Park. Waves is not the hotel on the beach front. It does not have Prestige like Gaviotas Park does, which is a good thing in my opinion. Waves is a lovely hotel, we are going back in September this year. Food is good with lots of it, there is always something available all day. There is one large heated pool and another large pool unheated but to be honest, they are both a good temperature. There are always sunbeds available. Guests are predominantly German and there is none of that nonsense of going down at 6 am to reserve beds. That seems to be Brit issue these days. There can be a lot of children here, even outside of the summer holidays as parents choose to bring there under 5’s at that time. The hotel was at capacity when we were there and there was sit plenty for everyone. Well worth a visit.

We travelled here as a family of four, x2 adults and x2 boys aged 3 and 5. The holiday was booked with jet2. First impressions of the hotel were really good. The reception area was decorated really nice for Christmas and the reception staff were really nice checking us in. While checking in were were offered a variety of drinks which was a nice touch. The hotel offered us the chance to have our room on an eco basis which meant that the room would be cleaned every other day as opposed to every day. In exchange for this we were told that we would get the room safe and mini bar use for the duration of our stay. We thought this was a good offer so agreed to it. What we found though was that the mini bar was only filled once and was stocked with x1 bottle of cava, x2 330ml bottles of San Miguel and some coke. When we asked at receptionwhy it was not refilled we were told that it was only once that the mini bar would be filled. We didn't feel this was a good offer at all considering the same items were included on the all inclusive basis! For our stay we had a family side sea view suite and this was large with enough storage for us. The bathroom was modern and clean. Food and drink was really good and all branded spirits. San Miguel beer on draft and the wine was good too. The only downside for the kids meals was there was never any chicken nuggets even at the snack bar which was a shame for our two boys. On the plus side every meal time there was an ice bucket filled with cava and rose cava. The hotel was advertised as having an indoor pool with jet2 which was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel. We were shocked to find when we got to the hotel that the was a 19 euro per person per hour charge to use this facility. In addition there were only certain days when your children can use this facility. As stated we travelled with our children and we found that the hotel mostly catered for their German guests. The children's mini disco was solely in German and as a result our children had little to no interest in it. The vast majority of the staff were friendly and happy to help however we had one of our pool towels stolen one day and the receptionist we spoke to couldn't have been any less helpful and fobbed us off. It wasn't until we spoke to the staff by the pool that we got the issue resolved. Overall a good hotel with good facilities and excellent food and drink. Would we return? Probably not for the reasons given around the indoor pool and the kids entertainment.

It’s 3.15am and staff Christmas party is ongoing. Crowds are yelling and music is still in the bar/theatre area. Neither me, nor my husband can sleep. Other guests are shouting from the balconies to the party people to shut up, drunken staff is laughing back. I went to reception, the guy was drinking water and nodding as I spoke to him, nothing was done. It’s a family hotel, I paid for this, not Ibiza club. I have three kids to take care of in the morning, I plain need rest.

Hotel is an absolute gem of a place to holiday, staff are most helpful and pleasant, best animation team I have ever witnessed for kids and adults and the food is probably the best buffet I have experienced. We booked a suite and it was outstanding we were over the moon, massive balcony you can enter from either the bedroom or the living room, place is spotless. Photos do not do this place any justice it’s much better in person, would highly recommend and are looking to book again for December, my partner had hurt his back badly before we arrived and they let him carry one of their cushions from the lobby bar all week to sit on and also dinner I was allowed to plate and bring food up to our room when he couldn’t move too well. Bar staff are great and make sure they try and remember what you were drinking, sort distance by taxi to the shopping area is only €6 and a little more into morro jable where you can find nice restaurants for a night. Shout out to Maura on front desk for putting up with my numerous questions, and Antonio and Sara (didn’t catch all other names) in the evening bars were fantastic. Can’t comment on the beach as we didn’t venture down due to mobility issues but the view from our balcony was breathtaking. Would 100% recommend and can’t wait to return 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent hotel and staff are a credit to themselves and the hotel. Well worth the extra to stay in the Prestige suite with the additional benefits (infinity pool was never busy anytime of the day, great views and fabulous food and drinks all self served from the pool area - very healthy options and not junk food which was great). Overall buffet was first class - we’ve stayed in 5 star hotels over the Caribbean and the USA and this was up there with them. Loads of healthy choices, veg options, lots of different meats and fish etc. Gym was perfect and rarely busy (again another benefit for Prestige). Entertainment in the evening was ok but had a very disappointing Abba night as the act only performed for about 30 mins. Evening entertainment came across as limited budget. However, facilities at the hotel for ten pin bowling was great (cheaper than back home !) as well as air hockey (€1), table top footy and pool. Beach at the resort is one of my favourites around the world, UK could learn a lot with how clean and fresh the sea is. Sun beds at the beach are reasonably priced at €5 for the day. Great breeze here so you never get too sweaty ! If you just want a holiday that’s relaxing in the sun at a great beach and without loads of bars and nightlife, the resort is great and hotel would be highly recommended. Will definitely come back - thank you to everyone here at the hotel for such a relaxing 10 days !
