Juna Mahal Boutique Home Stay

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Juna Mahal Boutique Home stay in Jodhpur, and it was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in India. The homestay is set in a 472-year-old heritage house, beautifully preserved and located right in the heart of the old city. The atmosphere is rich with history, yet the place is incredibly well-maintained, clean, and welcoming. The location is fantastic—it’s very close to the train station and the adjacent bus station, making it easy to reach for travelers. The airport is also nearby and can be reached by rickshaw in under 30 minutes. However, since the homestay is deep within the narrow lanes of the old town, cars cannot reach the doorstep, so you’ll need to take a rickshaw from the main road. Thankfully, rickshaws in Jodhpur are very reasonably priced and fair—unlike in some other cities, they don’t try to overcharge tourists. The family is happy to arrange transportation for you, making the journey smooth and hassle-free. From the moment I arrived, the family made me feel at home. Before my trip, Jimmy, the son of the family, personally contacted me on WhatsApp to confirm my arrival time, and when I got there, he was waiting for me, personally welcoming me and even carrying my bag from the rickshaw—a small but thoughtful gesture that made for a warm and memorable start to my stay. Earlier during my trip, I had injured my knee, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. A young *** named Arjun was particularly helpful; he carried my heavy bag all the way to the top floor when I arrived and again carried it back down to the main road when I was leaving, even hailing a rickshaw for me to get to the airport. Traveling alone with an injury can be challenging, but their attentive care made it much easier. I stayed in a top-floor single room, and the view was absolutely breathtaking—you can see the entire city from there. The rooftop restaurant is another highlight, offering a wide selection of dishes at very reasonable prices—perfect for enjoying a meal while soaking in the views. The homestay is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. The family offers various activities, including a camel safari, and they genuinely enjoy sharing their culture with guests. A unique feature of the house is its beautiful home temple, and if you’re interested in learning more about Hinduism, the family can take you to a local temple service in the evening—a non-touristy, authentic experience that gives insight into local traditions. The intimate atmosphere of the homestay makes it easy to connect with other travelers. Jimmy is very friendly and sociable, often introducing guests to one another, which creates a warm and communal environment. That said, this is not a party place at all—it’s a calm and peaceful homestay, making it an excellent choice for both single travelers and families. We stayed here in the top two king suite’s and absolutely loved it with stunning views across the rooftops and to the fort. The rooms were beautifully decorated and beds super comfy. You will still hear the horn noise of the TukTuks and motorbikes but this is totally to be expected when staying in the town. It’s a wonderful little oasis in Jodhpur and the owners couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this place on a visit to Jodhpur but not recommended for people with mobility issues due to the amount of steep steps.

This Haveli is very beautiful, tastefully furnished and well cared for. The views are magnificent from the Rooftop Restaurant where it is very relaxing after being in the busy streets of Jodpur. Location is excellent, situated in a quiet, tiny street in a local, authentic area of the old city of Jodpur. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We loved our stay. If you want an historical and comfortable stay with all amenities provided, then don’t hesitate to come here. Highly recommended.

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful stay in the heart of Jodhpur's blue city. This haveli is hidden between narrow streets and alleyways of the oldest parts of the city. The haveli's entrance conceals a beautiful interior and several floors of rooms, artefacts, and interesting adornments. The rooftop view at sunrise and sunset is lovely, and our favourite spot (apart from our room) was the dining terrace with the umbrella - we monopolized that space during our stay. The owner, Joshi, was very responsive to our group's inquiries and helped us arrange a tuktuk the evening we arrived (despite our train being significantly delayed). Joshi's son greeted us and checked us in at the haveli and Arjun helped us with our luggage. All staff were friendly and immensely helpful. Joshi's son advised us on the worthwhile sites to explore, helped organize a tour of Bishnoi village (highly recommend), and arranged laundry services. Arjun was at our beck and call for all mealtimes, ensuring we received our exact order and a delicious spread (shoutout also to the chef!). Arjun's infectious smile made us feel especially welcome and was a highlight of our stay. The manager of another haveli owned by Joshi gave us an amazing and informative tour of the blue city - can highly recommend as he knows every alleyway and the long history of the area. Joshi also helped one of my friends send a package home (too many lovely things to buy and not enough space in her suitcase), and I felt everyone went out of their way to help us - no matter what it was.

Beautiful, over 300-year-old, family-run haveli in the old town of Jodhpur. Mehrangarh Fort, Sardar Market (Clock Tower), Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi (step well) are all within walking distance. We arrived late in the evening and although the kitchen was already closed, Lal Singh, the good soul of the house, prepared a warm and delicious dinner for us - as he did every evening during our stay. Our room was very nice and clean, as was the bathroom. The owner organized a laundry service for us as well as transport to the airport. We would book the accommodation again at any time.

Very good stay quiet place in the middle of the old city. The food is very good Lal Singh the cook is very suit and always helping or doing things to make you stay enjoyable. I recommend the place if you are looking for a simple place clean with nice people making your stay a good souvenir.
