The Westford Hotel and Suites

Nice hotel. Well situated and not far from Sandton centre. Clean and spacious rooms. Nice pool at the entrance and back yard also. Welcoming staffs and ready to help at any moment. Room with all amenities. Value for money. Pizza corner ground floor where fresh pizza are cooked.

The hotel is very near to the Gautrain station where you can hop on the train tot get to the airport. There’s also a shopping mall next to the station for your essentials. They upgraded me to superior without charge, which I am grateful for. The room has everything that you need including a kitchenette with all the utensils and cookware. The staff is efficient. The only thing I don’t fancy is there are a couple of stairs to get to the room (mine was Block D) so if your carrying a heavy luggage it can be quite a challenge. Also, the bar downstairs can be noisy for be sure to request for a room on the quieter end of the hotel if you are sensitive to noise.

Pablos restaurant music extremely loud, my room, right above the restaurant, so noisy I cannot work or relax. Intoxicated gentleman in the spa driking beer and eating pizza... This hotel is definitely for the young and ritzy not for more mature people. Half of my room empty. Seems as if some furniture was moved out. Otherwise a nice enough place. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Parking not under cover.

Very friendly staff at the hotel and good location. The food/bar at the restaurant very delicious and the provide room service. No gym or other activities. We stayed for 5 days and no complaints at all. Will visit next time if I’m travelling to SA

My bad started well before checking in, as I tried for 3 hours to change dates, but instead I had to cancel to re-book; although free cancellation was available the site suddenly disabled this option, si I called the hotel, then Agoda, then send emails fir both and..not a single reply. So I’ve lost one night and that was not refundable. Once arriving at the hotel, I felt like stepping in a workshop, criwdy, noisy and dirty, high volume music and plenty of construction materials. The receptionist confirmed my loss and skipped from any responsibility and told me to complain with Agoda. Heading to the room through a very long corridor (200 m) I met around 50 non-guest noisily partying at the swimming pool (don’t be fooled by the stretched pics, both pools are tiny) and that made me sick and regret of my stay, as I was looking for a quiet hotel with a pool. The room was at good size, but found a broken AC remote control so had to walk back the 200 mts - they don’t have a telephone to call reception - and later on I had to repeat the process to ask fro a insect killer as there was a monster “cucaracha” on the toulet seat. Always passing by that drunk and noisy disgusting pool party. Well this morning is my 2nd day, and I found that my booking with wifi and breakfast had no wifi nor breakfast, and again, they skip and ask to call Agoda. Really, this is my worse experience ever, so I will skip my last night and will leave thus noisy and dirty place. Perhaps will consider to avoid Agoda from now.

My stay at Mint hotel was not a very enjoyable one. It started with a stressful check-in because we couldn't retrieve my company's credit card(not their fault to be fair). However when all was sorted , I was the least impressed with the loud noises from occupants , a long walk to my room, a brownie that had gone bad served me from Pablo ( this was changed once I informed them). All in all, my stay there left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. It takes very little to impress me but unfortunately Mint missed the mark for me. I feel bad writing this but sadly that was my experience.

I stayed a few nights. The location was good: the Sandton Gautrain station was about 5 minutes away by foot and the Nelson Mandela Square about 10 minutes. There weren't much services right next to the hotel, but Nelson Mandela Square was bustling with restaurants and the Sandton City shopping mall next to it had a good hypermarket. I had a standard room, which was quite small. It was clean and tidy and featured a good kitchenette. The hotel was large and my room was a few minutes away from the entrance. As a downside, there was some noise in my room. The loudest noise was caused by other guests (speaking loud or listening to music), but fortunately that didn't take place in the night. In the night there was also some device outside creating a humming sound. Luckily it wasn't very loud, so it didn't disturb my sleep.

Chose it as the location was good, and the rate seemed reasonable . It all started going wrong the minute I walked in through the hotel entrance . Firstly the check in took ages - 30 minutes . 2 staff going at a snail pace . The room was block F 2nd floor , a long walk with luggage up and down steps . The room was , fine but a lot of noise in the corridors . People talking to each other in the hall ways - bit like varsity days . After coming back from dinner at round 10, I retired to the room to get some sleep! No chance , the hotel block was in complete party mode . Multiple rooms playing music , singing , stamping and door Slamming. There is no phones in the room (no idea why and a crazy way for them to save money ) so you have to phone the reception with your mobile ! I tried only to discover I had no minutes on my “data card” I purchased at the airport . So had to try ride it out . Things settled down around 3am ! 4.30 am more loud talking and laughing in the corridor - *** ! Kids running up the corridors ! Cherry on the cake - no breakfast. They took 30 mins and had to leave to get taxi before it arrived . I was the only person in the restaurant! Best avoid - unless you want to party

Wonderful staff. From the moment we arrived we were struck by the warmth of their welcome and their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was wonderful. Rooms are spacious, very well furnished and extremely clean. Could not recommend this place highly enough.
