Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives

The Maldives is on everyone's bucket list. We all have high expectations of what it will be like, then we get to Finolhu and it is even better than our wildest dreams. The staff are so friendly and attentive you feel like you are the only guests on the island. We felt like family, not guests, and we have made many friendships. The resort itself is perfect. Immaculately kept, the highest quality at every point. The food is to die for and the variety of dishes is endless. All facilities are 5 Star +. This was our 2nd visit to Finolhu and we are planning our next trip already. We stayed for 10 nights but next time will be 2 weeks at least. Finolhu really is Heaven on Earth! Do yourself a favor and just go there.....

This was the trip of a lifetime - the location, service, amenities and standards brought the whole experience second to none. The venue in it’s entirety was gorgeous and well designed. Not overdone, pretentious or pedestrian - just naturally perfect. The level of hospitality by the staff was exceptional, being professional, friendly and genuine - in all departments. We were greeted and guided from the international airport to the seaplane and on return - to smooth & expedite the long journey. Our butler was friendly, professional and always delivered requests quickly. The buffet Beach Kitchen served delicious food at all meals, staff welcomed us by name & remembered our preferences quickly. Meals covered a variety of cultures, preferences & well known allergies. Staff were knowledgeable of the food and all happy to explain any questions. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated with a retractable washing line for swimwear etc. with amazing views. The spa had a lovely selection of massages, leaving us refreshed from our trip and ready to relax. The dive team were patient and experts for a novice like me who now wants to learn to scuba dive. Will have to book another longer trip to learn… Thank you

Great service and the clean room. Staffs are super friendly and accommodating. Love the daily program offered and very responsive butler service. Variety of food options and are delicious too. Do not need to worry about planning as everything is well organized and plan out for you.

Just back from our 7 nights. Absolutely loved it. My 5th trip to the Maldives, am a travel agent and have been blessed to be able to call this country my second home. This trip was probably my favourite. Laid back chic is correct, it's still classy - but relaxed. Not at all snobby or too structured, it's perfect. Some thoughts / comments: Highly recommended to do all inclusive. We did Premium all incl. The Maldives is pricey, so not having to worry about this is priceless in my opinion. You're on holiday, so why stress about the price of things? Best not to overthink it, just do all incl as you’ll end up saving $ in the long run. The rooms are beautiful, we were in a beach villa, perfect location, huge oversized king bed, massive is an understatement. Big pillows and super comfy, the mattress I'd call medium firmness, not plush but not firm. Just right :) did walks out to the end of the water villas each day, approx. 2.5km round trip from the main resort. Food - where to start. I'll just say we ate everywhere and everywhere was incredible. Special shout out to the lads at the crab shack, and all the staff at Kanusan, these 2 are really the standouts, although we also loved the Arabian grill and the buffet. Theme nights are really fun and there is literally every food to suit any taste buds, from western to asian and everything in between. All the staff were amazing. They work like they genuinely love their jobs, which is what you want. The seaplane lounge in the new terminal is great too, exactly what you want when you've just landed. Snorkelling at the house reef is brilliant. Great selection of fish and sharks and also really close to the beach (approx 100m to swim out). Spa - massage was awesome, we got head neck and shoulders. Lovely ambience. Prices vary from around $80 USD to $300 ish, but worth it. There is a sauna and steam room at the spa, which you can use after 10am at any time. The gym was well equipped, decent selection. Nice protein shakes and protein ball from the milk lab, again open after 10am. Cocktails - all incredible, I think we tried most of them :) good wine and beer selection too. Coffee - fantastic. The rooms have ILLY pods in them, which is nicer than Nespresso in my opinion. Very family friendly too if you take the kids, had a look through the kids club and spoke with a lot of couples we met who raved about it. Plenty of beach lounges and day beds, and the lads from the beach club will come around often to see how you are going for drinks :) Ocean - close to 28 degrees i'd say, super warm. The weather. May is the start of the wet season, but after having spent over a month in the Maldives over different months of the year, you have to just take the good with the bad. If you want to give yourself the best chance of calm fine weather then ideally you’d go between Nov to April, however we had lovely weather for most of this trip – with that nice constant tropical breeze each day.
