Hotel Aurora Plava Laguna

Nice hotel ( old but nice ), with own garden, beautiful see, pool, bikes......Hotel is old and would need a renovation, but it is clean incl. hotel rooms. There is nobody cleaning the garden ( full bins the whole day ), nobody cleans sun beds and umbrellas....Restaurant is huge - meal is not very good - quite a good choice of everything, but cooked in very bad way ( all the meat - even a tuna fish - is very tough and dried....), the restaurant staff is very unpleasant ( there was just one older man - do not remember the name - that was very nice and a lady called Elena - she was the only one who was able to make a good coffee at the lobby bar ), the rest of the fb staff ignores you, never smiles and starts cleaning and closing part of the buffet 40 min before the end of dinner.... the reception staff and housekeeping is very nice and kind.

Location- excellent. This is old (socialistic) design - spacy! Hotel is tucked in pine forest. Other hotels are far apart, and hard to see from thick forest. very rare "commodity" these days. Beach is not from "dream beach "pictures , since in entire Istria there is no natural beaches, so , long time ago, someone just made a - concrete block. Sing level, looks more like dock, than beach . But it works. As long as you want to be roasted. If not, there is little crowded pool area, with mix of natural and sunbrella shade, or , natural, pine shade huge area. actually an entire park ! Amenities : whatever you want . From bike to almost all water toys Hotel : built long time ago, but properly. Hotel is refurbished, (estimation) in the begging of 2000's but, partially. For example: door-wing is new, door-frame just painted ! Cleanness : excellent . Even walls are fresh painted ( no foot marks, splashed bugs..) Rooms: correct. Furniture is new , simple but sufficient. Bed quality- average. Balcony : big enough . But! Not even a piece of cord, rope to dry swimsuit! I was forced to improvse with car tow-rope! It is so often in Croatia, that look like some (insane ) EU recommendation ! Bathroom. Spacy, correct, clean, with tub (!) . But , some extra shelf and few hooks more will be nice . Staff: Excellent ! Most of the staff is young, season-workers and/or school students on summer practice . But , they work hard. In dining room you do not need for clean table more than 30 seconds. They speak languages, basically. On both bars (cocktail and beach) staff are pro , and multilingual . Food: average. If you looking for a la carte dine , with sommeliers, and flying waitress-forget it .This is vacation, family hotel , with average food, an d self service. But it is All-Inclusive. sodas and beverages from drink-o-mate are fake . But kids do not care anyway. On the other hand, beer (Ožujsko) is great , white vine is fine, red- not so good. Food quality : can be better. Too much ready-made industrial products. But, if you are not typical western tourist ( looking just for pizza, pasta, grill, pancakes and filter coffee ) with some imagination, you can make your mix. visiting almost all Istrian hotels for decade, my reference for kitchen is -fish. And fish is correct , even good. Cakes- nice, with reduced sugar ! Fruit- fresh and of good quality ( I never try cherries so sweet!) AI: comparing with some ( Turkey, Tunisia) "AI" where you need to pay for drink, Aurora is real AI. Not of higher class ( sodas are not original, cocktails are made by cocktail-o-mate ), but coffee on beech is excellent ( real espresso machine) . And service starts at 7a.m. and have one short break of only 1 hour (10-11 a.m) . At 11 a.m. beach bar is open, and around noon they bring some light lunch , if you do not want to go to main dinning room. end of service is at 23.00 when cocktail bar close. Entertainment: during day, there is some pool -fun, but not too

Posto datato anni 70/80 con qualche piccola ristrutturazione, camere ampie ma datate con qualche problema di pulizia dal calcare dei bagni alle bocchette di ventilazione. Materassj singoli e piumini singoli non proprio il massimo x una coppia. Avevo richiesto materasso intero una piazza e mezza xche matrimoniale non esiste. Optato x all inclusive ma niente di eccezzionale. Cibi tiepidi senza possibilita di scaldarli. Posizione ideale x andare in acqua, il mare è a un passo. ...dimenticavo sembrava di stare in una casa x anziani età media 70/75

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per una settimana, con una bambina di 1 anno. La formula proposta è ottima, un "all inclusive" con colazione, pranzo, cena, spuntini a metà mattina e metà pomeriggio, incluso anche le bevande (anche alcolici, come birra e vino!). Ogni sera c'è dell'animazione, anche per bambini. Ci sono 2 piscine, una profonda circa e una per bambini. Poi c'è una terrazza cementata, sempre con molti lettini, e una piccola spiaggia di sabbia. Si può scegliere una qualunque zona, anche stare nella grande pineta. Una pecca è che, ad agosto, l'hotel è pieno e i lettini sono "pochi": al mattino presto, quasi tutti i lettini sono occupati da asciugamani, e quindi è difficile scegliere la zona che si vuole. Il cibo è semplice, a buffett, forse più indirizzato a gusti centro/est europa (noi italiani siamo mooolto delicati in questo argomento ), ma la scelta è molto ampia e ci si adatta velocemente. Può sembrare una mensa a primo impatto, ma effettivamente il numero di persone è troppo alto per gestire diversamente. La coda c'è praticamente sempre ma è velocissima e ordinata. Il parcheggio è grande e costa solo 1.20€ al giorno (non so perché non lo includono nel prezzo della camera...). All'interno c'è anche un piccolo negozio per tutte le cose che ci si dimentica a casa, tipo spazzolini, giochi per bambini, giornali (anche la settimana enigmistica!), anche souvenir. Si possono prenotare delle bici per farsi dei giri o andare ad Umago (4km). L'unica vera pecca è l'hotel in sé, non è un 4 stelle, è troppo vecchio, gli infissi sono "leggerissimi", si sentono tutti i rumori (anche se l'animazione è fino alle 23, poi si spegne tutto), il bagno è piccolino, tutta la camera richiederebbe una bella manutenzione generale. Ovviamente occhio anche alla strada, ci si ritrova sempre in coda, sia all'andata che al ritorno, perché quella zona è molto trafficata. Quindi riassumendo, bene ma non benissimo: la formula è bella e comodissima, ma certe cose andrebbero sistemate per renderlo piu piacevole.

Die Zimmer sind nicht die modernsten, aber man hat alles was man braucht. Die Zimmer waren sauber und groß genug für 2 Erwachsene und einen Jugendlichen. Das Essen war gut und man hatte immer ausreichend Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Die Lage des Hotel ist top es liegt direkt am Meer, der Aquapark im Meer sorgt für Abwechslung, wie auch der Pool und die Tischtennistische. Für Ausflüge hält der Zug direkt am Strand beim Hotel, mit dem man innerhalb von 10 Minuten in Umag ist und die Stadt besichtigen kann.

Aangekomen en kamer met mieren in slaapkamer en badkamer gekregen. Gelukkig werd dit na 1 dag opgelost door ons een andere kamer te geven. Keuken is ondermaats. Enkel bij ontbijt vers gesneden fruit te verkrijgen. Overdag conserven fruit of stukken fruit. Variatie nihil: elke avond pizza, pasta. En qwa warme groenten dagelijks spruiten of broccolimix. Dus weinig variatie. Saladebar ook vrij pover en miniem. Als je s middags pech hebt moet je dik 30 min. Wachten op nieuwe pizza...want terug weinig keuze. Cocktails zijn niet ok. Zeer waterig en weinig smaak! We waren genoodzaakt elders te gaan. Zo kan de all in wel rendabel zijn...toch zulke zaken blijven niet duren! In restaurant 2 wijntabjes ene kant had wijn vieze smaak. Oplossing hadden het gewoon van plaats verwisseld! Niet ok! Waarschijnlijk in de hoop dat het toch nog werd opgedronken. Het is de 2 de maal Plava laguna keten. Eerste keer ander hotel met Hp en tevreden. Nu zeer ontevreden!!! Zo jammer!
