Romneys Apartments & Suites

We stayed in lodges 1 and 2. Good size, especially lodge 1, and very comfortable. Good location and plenty of parking. Could have done with a few more utensils in the kitchen such as oven gloves but well equipped otherwise. Comfy bed and decent sized bathroom. Lodge 2 had nice shower room.

We stayed in Snug 2 for a night on Thursday, the snug was absolutely beautiful & so clean. The living area was great for 2 people & the bed was really comfy. The room was a little warm but we kept the windows open, you could hear the road in the morning but that is to be expected. We didn't sleep well at all due to the snugs being in an old building with thin walls, we heard next door walking around all night so this was a shame. The pub itself is stunning and well priced, the food was also lovely. The manager called us after we had checked out and apologised for our poor sleep & offered us a partial refund which was a lovely gesture. We would stay again but hopefully with quieter neighbours :)

My daughter and I stayed for one night in a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean, warm and cosy. We had a carvery dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. The staff were really nice and friendly. We stayed on a Sunday evening and the place was very busy but we were served quickly and efficiently. We wished we could have stayed longer and we will definitely stay again when we are back in the area.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. Very very overpriced, poor kitchen equipment, 2 tiny little milk sachets which wouldn't even do one cup of tea, dusty, leaking radiator, broken latch on the window, a unsightly view from our window, no soap or towel for the bathroom, downstairs t.v was stood on a little box which looked totally out of place, Staff were lovely and friendly couldn't fault them. This room should of been half the price regardless if it's Christmas or not.

I recently stayed at Romney's Apar**ents (Lodge 3) as part of a short family get-away, it was ideally located for some of the places we wanted to visit, and the fact that it was attached to a pub was a bonus. The apar**ent itself was only average, the main plus points were that it had comfortable seats (all be it crammed in) and a nice Kitchen area which was nice to keep a few snacks in, much easier to make a hot drink in a kitchen rather than a tray in the bedroom like some places. Some of the down points about the apar**ent however were pretty annoying, the bathroom was the size of a cupboard, when using the toilet you could actually rest your head against the door and it had no real ventilation so if you wanted the room to dry out after you'd had a shower you'd have to leave the door open into the main living space for a couple of hours. Another annoying thing was that none of the bedroom doors in the whole apar**ent actually closed, the door handles must have been badly fitted or something because if you wanted to keep them closed while you were getting changed for example you'd have to lean something against them to keep them shut, and finally unfortunately the dishwasher in the kitchen area did not function. It is a shame that the apar**ent wasn't given more thought and attention because it feels like it could be a really great place to stay. P.s. Also somewhere dry your towels after use would have been useful.

We stayed in Snug 4 on our way to and from Scotland. It was beautifully decorated and really very well designed upstairs re: use of space. Loved the wooden bunk beds. The staff (based in the restaurant next door) were very welcoming, communication was great and the whole process to book, check-in and check out was super easy. Easy to find and really lovely to arrive to a beautifully sparkly car park! The stairs are super steep so not for a family travelling with small children or anyone with mobility problems. Perhaps a little table top dishwasher would be useful as the current set-up for crockery (requiring guests to wash plates and cups by hand) feels a bit unhygienic. Generally clean enough but lots of dust and spiders in areas (particularly on the curtains) and some lingering smells in corners that the air freshener couldn't quite cover up. The only low point is that the walls really are paper thin and we were unlucky to have super noisy travellers next door to us on one occasion who subjected us to every high and low of their relationship in one evening.

A brilliant find! Stayed for 2 nights and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Have to admit, didn't know there was a full on pub with restaurant as part of this accommodation. The rooms were tidy and beds comfy. The only issue we had was with the TV's not working but as soon as we told one of the friendly staff, it was fixed in minutes. The main Kendal centre is a leisurely 15-20 minute walk. Would fully recommend staying here.

We had a lovely stay here! There was a breathtaking view of the greenery outside of our lodge. Tasteful decor and touching quotes on the wall of the bedroom. Aside from a wobbly floor tile in the bathroom, we couldn’t be happier with our stay.

Due to the storm and having no electric, We managed to find accommodation at Romneys. We had some lovely food and the staff were amazing in what was an extremely stressful situation, and I not knowing when our electric would come back on and 3 young children. I would highly recommend
