Contempra Inn

This motel is special: I’m a motel fan and it is the first motel I’ve ever see that goes with an elevator! it gave me both a surprise and delight that I could easily carry my luggage to the second floor. You can tell the owner knows how to do business: it’s TV is even larger than the one I lived in downtown NOLA—and most important of all, the TV is working very well. Before switching to this motel, I lived in Aloft New Orleans Downtown for 3 nights, with nightly rate above $200, yet I felt quite inconvenient because Aloft lacked this and that. So really, amenities can be new or old, but the sense of the owner to invest in essentials to provide convenience does not necessarily mean that these things have to be “fancy” (but useless). While I wouldn’t say the level of cleanliness was also super—it was ok (though the blankets could have been nicer)—but overall in the world of motels, this one makes me feel that the owner does intend to offer you some needed service.

Perfect location and clean rooms. Good for Business Travelers in the city.

Asked for a refund didnt want to stay and was told i was 9 minutes too late,so I was stuck in that room....waiting for a refund for my second day. AND it smelled like urine.

The property is definitely old but for the price was good. The bed was comfy had full size fridge the tub shower was a little strange design but water was hot & pressure good.front staff were wet friendly & gave good tips to park in town for Mardi gras. The maids did not actually clean our room make bed till I asked but they always gave us clean towels. Over all it's a good convenient location esp for price

It was a decent stay for a night. I had minimal interaction with staff, so my opinion is neutral. The hotel is decent for the price. It had a nice shower inky room with plenty of hot water and good pressure.

Old and dingy. Doors aren’t sealed, curtains don’t close all the way. Seemed like a place that rented by the month.

For the price it was fine. I felt safe in the area. We had 3 rooms total. One room had broken TV, and some sort of green/yellow stain on sheet, 2nd room, stains all over the sheets, my 18yr old refuses to sleep under the sheets, we had 3 people in the room with only 2 towels (the size of a tea towel). Staff refused to give us another towel without giving one back. They said I could get house keeping to come and change every out. When I get back to room we at least had 3 towels but they did not change our sheets. They only gave 1 small packet of shampoo and conditioner and would not give more, but you could always buy a travel size in lobby for $4 each. Also it was weird staying in a place that rents by the week and people are living there.

It is very old but the room was very clean. It is quite evident that it has just been painted. For the age of the property we were extremely satisficed. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely personable. I had called a few times and he answered all my questions with great patience and politeness. It is a very congested area around the motel but we were on the back side so it worked out for us.

The overall stay was fine don’t like the $50 deposit and the length of time it takes to get it back. Due the fact it’s not an upscale hotel it’s a motel that could use a few more upgrades before requiring a deposit.
