Islom-Khodja Madrasah
舍舍讷费尔德柳如是I don't know which minaret the title is referring to. Anyway, Khiva's attractions are quite concentrated. They are all in the old city. Very beautiful. The sunset is especially... very charming, just like the story in One Thousand and One Nights.
Toshhovli Palace
Yyjm916From Bukhara to Khiva, the whole journey is 425 kilometers, driving for 6 hours, the charter fee is 75 US dollars, and the per capita fee is 18.75 US dollars, which is more cost-effective than taking the train. The driver took us from the B&B to the B&B, so we didn't have to toss ourselves.
During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Khiva was called the Huoxun Kingdom among the Nine Zhaowu Clans, also known as Khorezm.
There is an old proverb on the Silk Road, "I am willing to give a bag of gold just to see Khiva." I don't have gold, but I am willing to spend more time to visit this ancient city.
Khiva (English: Khiva, Uzbek: Xiva) retains the most complete city walls and residential areas, and is a specimen for studying ancient cities in Central Asia. The city is beautiful but not gorgeous enough. Large tracts of original soil reveal the wild temperament of this ancient city. Khiva was the capital of the ancient Khiva Khanate. The former Khivans were plundering, which created the largest slave market in Central Asia and was full of exotic mystery and horror.
Today's attractions in Khiva are mainly concentrated in the ancient city called Ichon Qala (we live in a homestay in this ancient city). This is not the former city of Khiva, but the inner city of Khiva where the princes and nobles live. The cross-shaped main road connecting the four gates in the east, west, south and north is lined with palaces, madrasa and mosques. The larger outer city has not been preserved, leaving only some scattered gates, mosques and palaces scattered in the urban area outside the ancient city. The Soviets once violently renovated this ancient city, giving this once declining city a new look.
At present, there is no ticket to enter the ancient city, but you have to buy a ticket to visit the palace, madrasa, mosque and the observation tower. Looking at the posture, it seems that you may have to buy a ticket to enter the ancient city in the near future. It feels that this aspect has been passed down from our side, and even surpassed it, just like the site selection of the high-speed rail station in Laos is completely from our side.
Juma Masjid
Jjuki235Juma Mosque is located in the ancient city of Kiwa, the mosque has been very old for hundreds of years. The mosque is not as luxurious and exquisite as the mosque in other places, but it exudes an unparalleled history and simplicity.
Mohammed Amin Khan Madrassah
行行者晓畅The Mohammed Amin Khan Madrasah was once the largest Madrasah in the ancient city of Khiva, and has now been converted into a hotel. It is difficult to book a room in the hotel, but staying there for a night is a good way to experience the culture of Khwarazm. The appearance of this Madrasah is not very special compared to other Madrasahs, so you can skip it.
