Nice rustic hotel by the lake. The grounds are beautiful, including the 18-hole golf course. The room was clean, equipped with a Remington hair dryer and straightener, a gramophone, Netflix and lots of snacks and drinks. Check-in is at 4 pm, which is a little late. We had lunch around 1 pm and waited for the room until 4 pm, although we were told that the room would be ready earlier and that they would notify us by phone, but they didn't. Hot tubs are slightly overpriced. 40€ for 1 hour where the water could have been hotter, also there's 0 privacy since the tubs are very close to each other, with no screens. The gent who was in charge of the tubs was talking to another couple and the whole experience wasn't very relaxing for us. The hotel has only one restaurant with a limited menu, also a bit overpriced. We ordered an espresso for breakfast, we were told it was not included in the B&B price and we would have to pay for it, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the coffee tasted like regular filtered coffee, not the one from the coffee machine. We waited 35 minutes for the food and it came half cold. No one checked our table. Lunch on both days was average, we ordered starter and main course, but we got everything at the same time. The salt and pepper were empty. Again no one checked on our table. The food for dinner was amazing, the beef cheek and steak were out of this world. Compliments to the chefs who were in charge for dinner service! Floor service was very slow, waiting 15 minutes for a glass of wine is too much. In the middle of our mains, all the young staff were gone and an older gentleman took the service into his own hands, checked on us twice and also on every other table and showed his professionalism. Tom's bar is a nice place to enjoy a drink after dinner, but it lacks a bit of music for a better atmosphere. The hotel itself is nice and cozy, but there are many young inexperienced staff who clearly need training on how to provide the best possible service to their guests.
