Hotel Schwarzer Adler

We arrived at 11pm assuming that we would be greeted by someone with the keys to our double room as was agreed with the owner and confirmed in an email. They were nowhere to be seen and not answering our calls. Some poor lad on the top floor saw us and let us in. Luckily he knew the owner and was able to give us all an empty room for the night but without keys. The rooms where singles and very tired and dated but a room for the night nonetheless. The next morning we spoke to the owner about our ordeal and he just laughed it off and blamed the miscommunication on his daughter. Rooms were not changed but we were given the keys and shown the breakfast room. Breakfast consisted of some fresh smelling bread rolls, a selection of sliced meats that had probably been on display the whole week, som soft tomatoes and a basket of what we thought were hard-boiled eggs. They were actually soft boiled and one was actually still raw!. We were offered watered down fruit juice and a coffee......the coffee and bread roll were the best part of the experience. Overall, not a great experience, too expensive and really not a comfortable or enjoyable stay. Shame, as the town is lovely and well worth visiting.
