The vacation at Bluebay Beach was awesome! We had a fantastic time. The people are so friendly - from the reception, to the waiters, to the security guards, to Hellen - the nice lady that was cleaning our room. Everything was clean, the food was so good, Live music and show acts almost every night. The area around the pool is cozy and the ocean is just steps away. We loved our time here. Even during the rainy season there is so much to do around the hotel and it’s the perfect spot for trips to Stonetown and Mnembe, because it’s like right in the middle. We will be back! We travelled here from the UK in Feb 24 as a couple. The hotel is a lovely friendly place and the rooms are lovely and cold with excellent air con and very clean. The setting is beautiful with greenary and the beach, The staff are helpful and super kind. The wifi was very hit and miss but this isnt a major issue for us, we were on holiday :-) We did have an issue on the first night but after chasing management they did sort it and we were happy with that. Happy on the beach bar, is her names sake - happy, friendly and always remembers you she is amazing. Adam was a beach porter and very friendly chatty and very helpful. There was entertainment every night - a little repetative but non the less it was on - the guys worked very hard. The guests are mainly polish and had great fun There alot of beach traders - whilst they didnt bother me (we all need to make a living) just to be aware there are alot but very friendly. My MAIN issue sadly was the restaurant / food area. Its not an enclosed area so as the nights humidity sets in you can be sat dining in some serious serious heat. The second downfall with it being 'outside' dining is ALL the flies/wasps all over the uncovered food ( salads/ deserts / breads etc) The food was very much same same every night and super small portions you have to ask for more which can feel a little embarrasing ( well thats just me). My husband and I sadly had an upset stomach for 3 weeks. I feel this could be easily sorted if the dining area was inside - thus stopping all the flies and wasps and comffortable eating tempertaures. Just my opinion. Id give this hotel 4stars as its stunning if the restaurant was sorted its would definately be 5star plus.

We've stayed in VOI Kiwengwa Resort for 5 nights. PROS: - Service was great: reception, dinning area, pool area, cleaning, gardening... all of them were always kind, polite and willing to help you if you needed assistance - Nice pool CONS: - Impossible to get into the sea without being stopped by the ”Masai” people or some others. This was very annyoing. - As before, impossible to walk near the sea without being stopped / followed by the ”Masai” people. Every attempt of saying ”enough” or saying that you don't have money with you, will be ignored. Not even that, if they finally don't get anything from you, you will be insulted. - If you are not Italian, you will feel little bit displaced. Mostly 90% of the activities are focused on the italian community. In addition, if you want to join a group activity to do some sightseeing, will not be possible as it is only offered to Italian people / speakers. All in all, I regret to say that we will not visit Kiwengwa area nor VOI Kiwengwa Hotel again due to the cons mentioned before. If you are someone looking for peace and relax this will be definitely not your place. Be also aware that this is starting to be a common feeling around the island, as our local stone town guide shared with us. Looks like you need to book a hotel with private security if you are looking for some peace.

We absolutely loved our stay at Zan View. We were a family of 6 and took advantage of the honeymoon suite and one double room for a total of 11 nights. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was ever too much trouble. They also helped us to learn some Swahili. We are not usually ones to eat at our hotel everyday, as we like to venture out and try different restaurants, however the menu at Zan View was so varied and tasty, we had our meal here daily. The food is of exceptionally high quality and everything is cooked fresh to order. There is also the occasional themed night on the menu, too! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, with lots of space. Water was provided to us in our rooms daily and there was a mini fridge, which was great. The views overlooking the sea were breathtaking. To get to the beach you have to walk through a little fishing village. The people there are lovely and very welcoming, with a friendly ”Jambo” when we pass by. If you want a small hotel, with friendly staff,breathtaking views and an unspoilt beach, Zan View is the place.to stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Zan View. We were a family of 6 and took advantage of the honeymoon suite and one double room for a total of 11 nights. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was ever too much trouble. They also helped us to learn some Swahili. We are not usually ones to eat at our hotel everyday, as we like to venture out and try different restaurants, however the menu at Zan View was so varied and tasty, we had our meal here daily. The food is of exceptionally high quality and everything is cooked fresh to order. There is also the occasional themed night on the menu, too! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, with lots of space. Water was provided to us in our rooms daily and there was a mini fridge, which was great. The views overlooking the sea were breathtaking. To get to the beach you have to walk through a little fishing village. The people there are lovely and very welcoming, with a friendly ”Jambo” when we pass by. If you want a small hotel, with friendly staff,breathtaking views and an unspoilt beach, Zan View is the place.to stay!

The vacation at Bluebay Beach was awesome! We had a fantastic time. The people are so friendly - from the reception, to the waiters, to the security guards, to Hellen - the nice lady that was cleaning our room. Everything was clean, the food was so good, Live music and show acts almost every night. The area around the pool is cozy and the ocean is just steps away. We loved our time here. Even during the rainy season there is so much to do around the hotel and it’s the perfect spot for trips to Stonetown and Mnembe, because it’s like right in the middle. We will be back! The vacation at Bluebay Beach was awesome! We had a fantastic time. The people are so friendly - from the reception, to the waiters, to the security guards, to Hellen - the nice lady that was cleaning our room. Everything was clean, the food was so good, Live music and show acts almost every night. The area around the pool is cozy and the ocean is just steps away. We loved our time here. Even during the rainy season there is so much to do around the hotel and it’s the perfect spot for trips to Stonetown and Mnembe, because it’s like right in the middle. We will be back! We travelled here from the UK in Feb 24 as a couple. The hotel is a lovely friendly place and the rooms are lovely and cold with excellent air con and very clean. The setting is beautiful with greenary and the beach, The staff are helpful and super kind. The wifi was very hit and miss but this isnt a major issue for us, we were on holiday :-) We did have an issue on the first night but after chasing management they did sort it and we were happy with that. Happy on the beach bar, is her names sake - happy, friendly and always remembers you she is amazing. Adam was a beach porter and very friendly chatty and very helpful. There was entertainment every night - a little repetative but non the less it was on - the guys worked very hard. The guests are mainly polish and had great fun There alot of beach traders - whilst they didnt bother me (we all need to make a living) just to be aware there are alot but very friendly. My MAIN issue sadly was the restaurant / food area. Its not an enclosed area so as the nights humidity sets in you can be sat dining in some serious serious heat. The second downfall with it being 'outside' dining is ALL the flies/wasps all over the uncovered food ( salads/ deserts / breads etc) The food was very much same same every night and super small portions you have to ask for more which can feel a little embarrasing ( well thats just me). My husband and I sadly had an upset stomach for 3 weeks. I feel this could be easily sorted if the dining area was inside - thus stopping all the flies and wasps and comffortable eating tempertaures. Just my opinion. Id give this hotel 4stars as its stunning if the restaurant was sorted its would definately be 5star plus.

We absolutely loved our stay at Zan View. We were a family of 6 and took advantage of the honeymoon suite and one double room for a total of 11 nights. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was ever too much trouble. They also helped us to learn some Swahili. We are not usually ones to eat at our hotel everyday, as we like to venture out and try different restaurants, however the menu at Zan View was so varied and tasty, we had our meal here daily. The food is of exceptionally high quality and everything is cooked fresh to order. There is also the occasional themed night on the menu, too! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, with lots of space. Water was provided to us in our rooms daily and there was a mini fridge, which was great. The views overlooking the sea were breathtaking. To get to the beach you have to walk through a little fishing village. The people there are lovely and very welcoming, with a friendly ”Jambo” when we pass by. If you want a small hotel, with friendly staff,breathtaking views and an unspoilt beach, Zan View is the place.to stay!

We've stayed in VOI Kiwengwa Resort for 5 nights. PROS: - Service was great: reception, dinning area, pool area, cleaning, gardening... all of them were always kind, polite and willing to help you if you needed assistance - Nice pool CONS: - Impossible to get into the sea without being stopped by the ”Masai” people or some others. This was very annyoing. - As before, impossible to walk near the sea without being stopped / followed by the ”Masai” people. Every attempt of saying ”enough” or saying that you don't have money with you, will be ignored. Not even that, if they finally don't get anything from you, you will be insulted. - If you are not Italian, you will feel little bit displaced. Mostly 90% of the activities are focused on the italian community. In addition, if you want to join a group activity to do some sightseeing, will not be possible as it is only offered to Italian people / speakers. All in all, I regret to say that we will not visit Kiwengwa area nor VOI Kiwengwa Hotel again due to the cons mentioned before. If you are someone looking for peace and relax this will be definitely not your place. Be also aware that this is starting to be a common feeling around the island, as our local stone town guide shared with us. Looks like you need to book a hotel with private security if you are looking for some peace.
