YaoIsland Resort and Farm

From the moment we were picked up at the jetty by Sky one of the hotel’s charming staff to our arrival at the hotel we were in awe. The hotel consists of beautiful, contemporary timber buildings situated on the most exquisite beach with a 20m infinity pool and a view straight out of a James Bond film of the most wonderful group of islands. Piano welcomed us and showed us our bungalow room with its view over the beach, sea and islands. Comfortable and elegantly furnished, we felt instantly relaxed and calm. Tim, the hotel manager came to greet us and was charming and wonderful from the start. He was great company for us all and was particularly helpful when our son injured himself when we were out touring the island and needed hospital trea**ent. Tim organised all the help we needed and was so supportive and thoughtful we were greatly indebted to him. The food was great. Traditional Thai dishes like Pad Thai were delicious. Breakfast was possibly our favourite meal of the day, sitting in the restaurant watching the sun rise, overlooking the lawns, pool, and beach it really felt like time had stood still and we’d arrived in paradise. The wildlife around the hotel gardens is beyond belief and we spent our time just taking it all in. Tim organised a wonderful boat tour around the islands for us which blew our minds. Monkey Island where all the monkeys swim out to greet the boats and another island with a secret lagoon where we got out and swam were absolute highlights. We spent evenings playing cards at the fabulous hotel bar, chatting to Tim and watching the stars. The Koh Yao Island Resort cannot be recommended too highly. It’s the sort of place one dreams of and we would not hesitate in getting on a plane and returning there, especially to see Tim and his wonderful team again!
