What a gem of a place! I had an amazing stay at the lovely Amara Beach Resort in Haad Yao, Koh Phangan. I enjoyed it so much that I extended and extended my stay, not wanting to go anywhere else. I will begin by mentioning the very lovely, friendly, helpful and attentive staff, who made my stay so pleasant and welcoming. From the wonderful manager Michaela to reception, housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, restaurant and kitchen staff, I really felt so well looked after by all. I love, love, love the beachfront location on this very beautiful beach, as well as being so close to a shop, laundry and a variety of food options. There is also a great onsite restaurant and the fantastic buffet breakfast is a real highlight. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, with all amenities and services you may need (fridge, mini bar, kettle, great air con, excellent WiFi, warm shower, safety box, terrace/balcony, daily housekeeping). The beds deserve a special mention, because they really are so very comfy! You can also easily arrange taxi transfers and fantastic tours and day trips through reception. The pool and grounds are maintained really well and there is a very lovely atmosphere and feeling being here. I always felt so very safe, easeful, comfortable and cared for. I am truly grateful for my stay at Amara and I would absolutely wish to return again in the future.

Excellent place! Cannot fault the staff or food! Absolutely delicious food, and the service was impeccable. Coco was especially great :) definitely pay this place a visit if you are in Koh Phangnan. Our friends also stayed here and loved every second. We visited every night and every night it did not disappoint.

We loved this place. Our an excellent addition to the west coast. Best western food we had in Thailand and always super fresh. The added bonus of a beautiful sunset every night was great! Coco is an excellent addition and cannot do enough! Joe is also excellent and having English speaking staff really helps!

The staff at the hotel are lovely and happy to help. In addition, they speak English, which is a big advantage in Thailand :) The rooms are clean and comfortable, but very basic. The beach is private with beautiful sunsets and pleasant sand. The location is convenient, transportation is required to reach other places, but the distances are short. We had a lot of fun.

We stayed at Amara Resort for almost 20 days. Positive vibes in every department starting from the reception very helpful and nice people ( We check in with Tim but all of them were excellent). The room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping very attentive. We had breakfast included so we enjoyed a lot it. Good quality but for so many days, it should be nice a change in the menu. Anyway was excellent. The young waiters were very nice and careful in any aspect. Sunset time on the beach is outstanding although we realised that next to us the property was often fully booked and our property not so crowded. We tried both and we suggest to improve the organisation and the quality of the sunset happy hour drink to reach the same level. The guys are good but look they need a guide. Probably is missing a coordinator and better drinks solutions under our point of view. Anyway for all the rest, everything was very good and we strongly recommend the resort. Good guys, good job. 

To begin whit I have to point out what’s good whit Amara. The location is excellent and the breakfast is very good, so is the food in the restaurant as well. Now when we booked there was only one room available which was “The ocean View room”, and it was really expensive. We paid 2700€ for 16 days. To begin whit, it’s limited ocean view, a big roof blocks most of the view, but that was not the major problem. For us the problem started the first night when we arrived. The room is situated just over the restaurant and on Thursdays, which was the day we arrived, they attended an big Russian party whit 70 drunk Russians and some guy shouting in a microphone, which makes it impossible to sleep. And to make things worse another restaurant, Cocco Locco is next to our bedroom and they have dj’s playing some nights and the other they just play loud music until 02 in the morning. When we booked this room it said nothing on the description that there could be a lot of disturbance from close by restaurant until late at night. I pointed out our problems and asked for a refund and was willing to lose some money in order to move on and find a place where we could sleep better. But the owner would only offer us 600€ back which was an insult. They offered us a voucher for the restaurant for 30€ as an excuse, but that wasn’t any help for lack of sleep. I’m sure the “manager” will wright here that they did everything to help us and offers us to switch room, which isn’t true. I asked if that was possible and they should look in to if any one was interested in switch rooms. So that was no initiative from there side. Overall it was really sad it turned out this was because the staff is really nice, expect “the manager” and I’m sure you will have an better experience if you book a room further back at the resort. If you come here to sleep early, don’t book the “Ocean View” room. Would I go back, no. Would I recommend it to others, sure. Food, location and most of the staff is great.

This hotel will not disappoint! First of all, the staff. They are just the most friendliest and helpful you could find! We had room 11. Great size with lovely views of greenery. Excellent shower and the bed is super comfy. Breakfast is an amazing choice and we ate here for dinner and lunch most.of the time as it was just.so good. Beach amazing, pool great. I'm struggling to find anything negative to say but if I was to mention anything it would be to get some more staff at breakfast - felt like the server was struggling a bit on his own. I'd come back here most definitely.
