The apartments are easy to find, has very friendly staff, very clean rooms and pool, and in a very good location just a minute away from the sea and from the shops and supermarkets. Enjoyed it a lot and would highly recommend! Will come back for sure!

Just back from a week at the lovely Kontessa Apartments in Kefalos. When we arrived our room number was on the board by the entrance gate. We easily found our apartment on the first floor with a super view of the huge pool and Kamari Bay from the balcony. We were greeted by a lady who, I think was Joanna, she has very little English but is very sweet and helpful. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped for a simple self catering holiday which was not really required as you are within easy walking distance of the many wonderful restaurants and bars. Please do not be swayed by previous negative reviews, I would not hesitate to stay at the Kontessa again. Highly recommended.

Awful experience in the kontessa the guy in the bar pop eye was so rude. The kitchen area is so unhygienic we couldn’t think of ordering food from there think twice if using the pool with children they only like Adirondack use cos children to loud with laughter never again will I be going there

I was there when the previous review was written and the way that family was treated was disgusting. There were 4 children 3 of them under the age of 5 and they were just being kids. Having fun making noise as they do. Nothing more than that and certainly nothing to complain about. To be asked to leave because of the noise of children playing is a disgrace. There was a sign outside the front that stated all welcome to use the pool why put this up if children are clearly not welcome. Not sure who was complaining but if you don’t want to hear children then you should book an adult only hotel. The comments about the kitchen that was written I also back up I looked over at what is supposedly a kitchen and the grease and burnt on food on what is meant to be panini press/grill must have been there for years. I won’t be returning

Has a lovely pool if children are allowed to be children kicked out of the pool for the kids having fun literally doing nothing wrong but playing ‘piggy in the middle’ with the adults. Then popeye told us to leave the pool we asked why they are just playing being children he stated he had three children and he then accused us for not raising our children right, what gives him the right to say if we have raised our children correct. The kitchen area at the pool bar is disgusting so unhygienic flys food left out on the side, he sits in the bar areas smoking and drinking beer. Runs out of food no chips no coffee doesn’t have ice creams. Sign at the entrance says free pool to use all welcome spend at the bar 10 euro, how wrong never again come every year sometimes twice to kefalos and there is sometimes 11 of us, big mistake!!

Swimming pool was amazing so big and also has a babies pool for the little one and non swimmers. Lovely snacks. Popeye is so friendly and helpful and so good with the kids. He made them doughnuts nearly every day. Nothing was any trouble. They loved him

This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last. Lovely clean apartments, cleaned daily and very well equipped. Swimming pool was well maintained. Very close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Absolutely faultless.

Had a week at the Kontessa and thoroughly enjoyed it. Small problem when we arrived at midnight that our room was double booked but owners Nikos swiftly resolved by moving us to a nearby hotel for a day. Typical Greek self catering units, wonky shower and all! The apartment was clean and comfortable with a small patio directly opposite the pool. Swimming pool was a great size for proper swimming if a bit cold.. Manolis looked after the pool bar and was great for local information. Kefalos is a lovely quiet resort with many bars & restaurants so well worth a visit

The Kontessa Apartments look nice,but only outside! Inside:everything is old,worn out and desperately needs updating. The bed mattresses are very old ,hart and need to be cleaned.The third bed in the kitchen was made out of the covers of the sun beds from the pool area! But you will only realise all rhis when it is already too late,since according to the Booking conditions, you must pay everything in advance!There is also no reception at all,so be prepared to be left alone with all your needs and questions. Manolis ,an unfriendly barkeeper is good in telling dirty jokes and selling coffee for 6,50 Eur at the pool bar.For any questions, he was sending us to Nick-the manager, whom we didnt manage to see even once!He seems to run his own car rental office at the other end of the village. We have tried to contact Nick,the manager ,on the phone and via email,but it was just a waste of time,He has never answered or called back.
