Kimte Beach Lodge

Small and quiet lodge with acceptable accommodation(dormitory or private rooms). Beautiful beach front bar/restaurant with lovely and friendly people running it.. Basic menu, but very good, breakfast included which was excellent... Very chilled....

Delicious food and if you want something not in the menu, then you can discuss with the owner to accomodate. We love seafood and Zanzibar is definetelly a rich source :). The owner was kind and helpful and he made special seafood plateau at our request whenever we told him (you have to pre-order in the morning for the lunch or dinner time). The hotel accomodation is basic and clean. Clean sheets, towels, clean the room at your request (daily if you want), shampoo/bath gel. Internet is working super-ok on the beach- garden, not in the rooms. But in the room we only went to sleep, not To use the internet :) Fair prices for both the food and the rooms!

I booked kimte for 4 nights, as we drove to the lodge it was a very long journey, it was located in the middle of a VILLAGE therefore bumpy treacherous roads to reach the lodge. We arrived, saw a lady I’m assuming an employee laying in the forecourt, legs up really weird sight to see as a guest. She didn’t even greet us she continued laying there. It looked unclean and unkempt. We were shown to the room, it looked like a $5 dollar guest house, no AC, very musty & on top of that it didn’t look very clean. Anyway we decided not to stay as it wasn’t clean, very unkempt, it was very crowded with locals & it generally didn’t feel safe. We told the owner’s I’m assuming African husband who told us to speak to the owner for a refund. Weren’t expecting the refund, however I wanted to let future guests know what they’re getting into. It’s not on the beach it’s opposite a beach, surrounded by a village. Tbh it has potential to be a good lodge as the location isn’t too bad and could be closed off to allow more privacy. The workers seem as they weren’t working, and it seems that no money has been put to renovate or make it decent. Keep the $150 dollars you will surely need it to renovate your lodge..

The place was clean, the rooms well done and the breakfasts were always well done. The staff was quite friendly and helpful whenever we needed to ask anything. The beach is less than 50m from the rooms and 5m from the lodge's restaurant area. There were plenty sun loungers and beach chairs including a swinging bed in the shade. Nice clean beach too.

Nous n'avons pas séjourné dans cet hotel, mais nous y avons mangé tous les jours. Le petit déjeuner proposé est hyper complet et à petit prix. Avec des fruits frais tous mes matins en fonction des disponibilités. Il y a du choix à la carte, à petit prix et tous les plats sont frais et préparés à la commande. L'hygiène est impeccable et les plats sont super bons. On en a essayé plusieurs et on s'est régalé à chaque fois. A ceux qui se plaignent de l'attente (que je ne trouve pas longue en réalité) : c'est ce qui vous permet d'avoir un plat frais dans les règles de l'art ! Sinon, allez réchauffer vos Surgelés ! Concernant l'ambiance : tout le personnel est très agréable, souriant et avenant. Ils vous font vraiment vous sentir les bienvenus et comme chez vous. Il y a de la musique pour ajouter à la convivialité. Et la décoration est super jolie. Manger les pieds dans le sable, assis dans un sofa super confortable, en regardant les vagues s'échouer à 10 mètres aurait pu suffir. Mais le lieu est tellement bien aménagé et décoré, que le charme opère immédiatement. De temps en temps, vous avez aussi la possibilité d'assister à un concert live gratuit pendant que vous Mangez. C'est le meilleur restaurant qu'on ait testé, et on est heureux d'avoir eu la chance de loger juste en face et de pouvoir en profiter tous les jours. Une adresse à tester ! Vous serez conquis et vous aurez du mal à partir !

Une chaleur torride dans la chambre non climatisé et tres peu aérée. Le menage n'est fait qu'à la demande. La restauration est chere. Il y a bien meilleur ailleurs. Le service n'est pas identique selon le personnel.... et son etat ... Beaucoup de locaux viennent fumer ...et restent au resto; cela ralenti le service et fait beaucoup de bruit d'autant qu'il y a toujours de la musique forte. Coupures d'eaux frequentes et d'electricité. Pas de volets aux fenetres, tout le monde peut voir dans la chambre Nous n'avons pas pu partir car la reservation ne prevoit pas d'annulation mais l'envie etait la ! Dommage car avec un peu de rigeur, ils pourraient faire bien mieux. Si je retourne à Jambani; je n'irai surement pas lç, quitte à payer un peu plus cher
