Hôtel Barrière l'Hermitage

Came for a relaxing two day stay. After 7 hour drive to the hotel we sat relaxed with a glass of rose and a bottle of local beer and bottle still water. We then decided to organise dinner at one of the two restaurants at the hotel. We then discovered the main restaurant was closed and their seafood restaurant was full. Our only option was room service or find somewhere else. Sunday France everywhere was closed. We were super super disappointed- this was not a good start. We were not the only ones - bar staff couldn’t really care and just said we could have sliced meat and cheese if we wanted. The other staff were having a tough time trying to sort out a family who were in the same situation. Im sorry but if you have guests expected and you have at least one open restaurant you reserve a table for your guests! We sat in our room duly ordered pizzas. The cheapest item on the menu because everything else was 5* restaurant prices which we were not prepared to pay to sit in our room to eat. They were disgusting clearly shop bought with extra toppings. We couldn’t even have a cup of tea. We looked at the breakfast 30euros each for continental or American style breakfast at that point we realised this hotel is a rip off and we would not be staying any longer and made alternative plans. When we came to check out the next morning they did not care. The only saving grace after much discussion baring in mind the following costs; our drinks were 32euros one glass rose and one bottle beer & bottle still water, pizza 50euros and 33 euros a day to park your car - our car was parked outside the hotel entrance- they also did not like it because we used *********** and not booked direct - we had to accept that we had to loose the room money - they agreed to not charge for our food and drinks - we were so so disappointed and had very much looked forward to our stay - this hotel needs to stop trying to be like the shard or a hotel in Monaco and focus on what it should and can be. Clearly some guests dont care how much things costs like 33 euros a day to park your car- we are more than happy to spend if it is justified but this hotel is not. This was part of a 13 day holiday where we stayed in 6 hotels and this was by far the worst and yet promised to be the best - such a shame. Oh the chaps who park your car and take tour bags? 5* super lovely super professional couldn’t be nicer thank you.

From arrival to departure, everything was perfect! The whole team made us feel at home.. even better than home 😉. They would anticipate our needs always with a bright smile and friendly, but professional words. The hotel is just beautiful and the view from the room is unbeatable! The location is spot on. You have the ocean at your feet, and can enjoy the busy and charming life of La Baule in a few minutes walk or take a ride on the hotel bicycles to discover all the beautiful houses around. For the golfers, the La Baule Club is close by and offers fantastic courses. And not to forget about the tennis courts just a few minutes away at the over 100 years old Club. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The only “downside” is that we could not stay longer!! We will definitely be back..

We spent a few days. From the arrival to the departure everything was perfect. The location is amazing and the sea view rooms are a great choice The team is very helpful The restaurant on the beach offers great seafood for lunch and dinner

We loved the decoration of this palace, as well the common areas, the reception, our room, the breakfast room and the restaurant, we slept in a bright room with a beautiful sea view, the breakfast was unforgettable, lots of choice, the staff were professional and courteous while being discreet

Conforme à tous les hôtels BARRIÈRE , confort , luxe et discrétion des vieux palaces au gout du jour 2024. chambre spacieuse , rien ne manque , excellente literie. le personnel est excellent à tous les niveaux , aucune critique de ma part. emplacement parfait avec accès à la plage et à la promenade immédiats

Un peu comme chez Paul Bocuse, l’excellence dans la simplicité et l’authenticité L’accueil des équipes est d’une vraie qualité, disponibilité, professionnalisme, gentillesse qui donne une impression de « chez soi » Premier séjour au 6eme étage, très agréable, quelle vue ! Bravo pour la rénovation de la terrasse et le choix du mobilier et des transats, confort et élégance Restauration et bar d’une qualité constante Bref… vraiment un séjour parfait et qui donne envie de revenir dés que possible Merci ! Séjour d’une semaine à La Baule pour fêter un anniversaire. Comme d’habitude, tout n’a été que bonheur, très heureux d’avoir retrouvé toute l’équipe qui tout au long de ces années a été à nos côtés de manière très professionnelle ce qui aujourd’hui nous permet d’avoir une relation privilégiée Avec un personnel de qualité. Comme nous l’avons déjà dit quand nous descendons à l’Hermitage, nous arrivons chez des amis. Merci encore pour toutes les attentions qui nous ont été apportées pour cet anniversaire de manière très amicale. Rendez-vous est pris pour notre pause estival de cet été et nous reviendrons avec un grand plaisir. Bravo pour la nouvelle équipe et la nouvelle carte de l’EDEN Beach … À essayer sans hésitation

Arrivée un peu sur la défensive, sans raison, il y a des jours comme ça, je n’ai pu que constater le professionnalisme de toute l’équipe ! On se sent bien dans cet établissement grâce à un personnel très sympathique, mention spéciale à Jules et Hervé. Merci à tous pour pour ce moment hors du temps.
