The shower in the single room had black mold, this is not acceptable by any standards. Plus it was flooding, drainage wasn’t working well. Not worth the price. The single room itself apart from shower was nice and clean. Owner was nice and helpful. Location’s very close to train station.

Affittacamere del Golfo was the perfect place for us to base ourselves for a few days exploring the Cinque Terre. We loved La Spezia and are glad we chose this city instead of staying in one of the actual Cinque Terre towns. Affittacamere is a ten minute walk to the La Spezia train station where frequent trains run frequently to the towns. Staying in La Spezia you have many great choices for shopping and dining without the crush of crowds and limited restaurant options. Our accommodations were well-appointed and comfortable: Affittacamere del Golfo is a collection of rooms with a lobby, in a typical older multi-family apar**ent building. Our room was well-maintained and clean, the bed was comfortable (and the bathroom was also clean and in full working order). There were no problems with water pressure or availability of hot water. Elisa, the proprietor, was friendly and helpful and always more than happy to get us situated and oriented. We asked for local dining off the beaten track and she directed us to a place near the water where we had amazing seafood every night. Affittacamere del Golfo is not fancy but it was exactly what we needed and we would stay there again without hesitation.

The best part for us was the proximity to the La Spezia Centrale train station. (An easy 5 minute walk.) The property manager that greeted us at the entrance was very nice and was helpful to us the entire stay. She was also very fluent in English and a good communicator in person and via WhatsApp. We had a very nice 3 night stay.

Lovely rental in the center of La Spezia, very close to the train station and 10-15 minutes from the port where you can catch the ferry to the Cinque Terre. Super well located, clean, simple, and with a very friendly, amazing host who gave us a lot of good recommendations.

Elisa was very good communicating prior to our arrival to arrange check in. We did have a little difficulty finding it at first as there was some construction in front. Elisa was incredibly helpful with information about the area and suggestions for travelling to Cinque Terre and restaurants - even the gluten free options!The room was very clean and was cleaned while we stayed. The location is good with ready access to shops and restaurants.

We loved the look and feel of our room with exposed brick, but modern furnishings. The room wasn't huge, but wasn't small. The bed was comfortable. There were enough plugs to charge all the things. There's a small area to hang clothing. The bathroom was nice and modern with a good sized shower. Everything was very clean. The woman who checked us in was very kind and helpful. Just note that this is in an older building so the elevator is tiny, but it worked! The location walking distance to the train station is perfect, as we were there to visit Cinque Terre. Certainly a good place to stay for that. The only slight downside was that we drove and parking was a little complicated. Particularly as there is nowhere to unload your luggage unless you just get very lucky with finding a space nearby. Otherwise you may have a pretty long walk with your bags after you find parking. Not a huge deal, just something to note.

Elisa was a great host. She reached out on whatsapp the day before our arrival and gave details on how to get to the hotel. Elisa was very helpful in providing details on many questions I had on visiting Cinque Terre. Would highly recommend this place!!

Avoid this place. It’s located in an apar**ent building with zimmers for rent. Facade of hotel with scaffolding and dingy We were a bit late (45 minutes) due to accident ten minutes from the hotel. Elise charged us 45 euro late fee. It was at 9:45 pm. She said she needed to charge late fee because we would possible wake up her guests (insane) Insisted on credit card as soon as we walked in. Elissa was downright rude. Room is cramped. Shampoo and soaps are pea size. No Kleenex in room just toilet paper that is one ply and recycled paper. Skimpy towels. No fresh towels where given to us the following day Breakfast was not on premises. Free parking was at least 20 minutes walk away. Ellie’s insisted it was five minute walk from hotel. WiFi was horrendous. Only one of our phones worked on the house WiFi. Shower was in a locker. Overall if you’re looking for a hostel..this the place but not for the of a Sheraton.
