The drive from Kalpa to Tabo is one of the highlights of the Spiti road trip. I am glad I found The Norphel hotel, which is a bit away from the town. Surrounded by mountains, this gem of a stay is highly recommended. The room is spacious and clean. The food is delicious and the caretaker Afreedi is very helpful and kind. Viewing the Milky Way through naked eyes is something else and you can enjoy this marvel here. Highly recommended stay when in Tabo.
