We visited the Maxwell mansion for the first time in 2003. Every detail of our visit made us glad we decided to stay. Over the next year we returned several times to visit the Apothecary bar and chat with the staff. In 2024 we upgraded our room choice to the beautiful mansion. The room and every member of the staff made us glad we returned. The location is a short walk from the busy downtown area of Lake Geneva making it a definite hidden gem. Next time you find yourself in Lake Geneva check it out.

Gorgeous place. Very pricy. And staff is very particular, follow their rules closely as to not have anything confiscated.

The rooms in the carriage house were designed to get the most out of the space, extremely clean, and in fantastic space. The mansion was beautiful and the service for the wedding I was at was well done! Highly recommend!

This was our 2nd stay at the Maxwell Mansion and it did not disappoint. Our room was in the Sables and loved it! The rustic decor was fun and very charming.We enjoyed the live entertainment, the delicious small bites and fabulous drinks. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and guest services super attentive. Maxwell Mansion is located close (with in walking distance) to the lake, shopping, restaurants and bars. If you're into the nostalgia of the 1800's and the prohibition era or if you want to relax and unwind, this is the venu for you.

The Maxwell Mansion has a nice atmosphere, enjoyable outdoor areas, and is ideally located for walking downtown and getting on the lakeside trail. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The Maxwell Mansion has so much charm and history. Unique decor, great entertainment, amazing staff and great location within walking distance to Main Street shops and dining made it perfect for our “girls trip”. We were lucky to be at the Mansion on Wednesday for live music. The “light bites” menu was varied and delicious and was plenty for our late supper after the lake tour and shopping afternoon. Amazing place for our quick getaway!

We had an amazing stay over 4th of July weekend. The hotel grounds are amazing; nicely landscaped with an immaculate pool area. Room was nicely decorated and clean; bed was very comfortable. Lobby bar staff were friendly. We loved that the hotel is adults only. They had entertainment outside on the patio some nights during our stay. Speak Easy was a fun experience. Best part is that the hotel is within walking distance to downtown Lake Geneva so we never had to drive downtown to eat/shop. The staff is friendly and always available if you have questions about the area or property. Thanks again for a great stay. We hope to visit again soon.
