Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown

Hotel is not that old but seems really outdated. Poor maintenance. Chair had moulds. Housekeeping poor as they do not clean rooms properly. Breakfast was average. I would not recommend or come back to this hotel.

When we checked in the lady at the counter was quick, effiecient and nice but there were also no other customers. This our fourth time staying at Savoy hotel due to it's location and not that expensive. Everything was fine until we arrived in our room and went inside the cr. We noticed a small leak of water from the back of the toilet going all the way to where the trash can was. Also the smell was like a sewer pipe. It really did stink bad but didn't make me throw up and we would have probably had to move and we already had a long day earlier. Noticed some crackes or bubbles in the paints maybe from rain or I dunno. We had breakfast the next day and was really surprised. It was packed and almost all of the food trays were empty or half empty. Most of the food was cold as well and there was a very small selection. No bacon or big pancakes just these small mini cakes which were so hard my son could not bite a piece off. The coffee and bread was good as well as the three selections of juice. I wanted eggs but they seemed to be atleast ten orders behind. Anywhoe I don't think it was worth the 3k we paid. Shower was okay went from hot to cold. Temper your expectations. Tons of foreigners stay there so no excuse when it comes to money. I do like their parking garage though

It was a good stay we had access to the beach and they had a free shuttle going there.

It’s my second time here, everything is great. The beach is finally finished. I must said I order some dishes here and in the hotel in Manila and taste different also not same quality, the Manila ones being better but still not a big deal. I find some of the towels a bit old, might be better to change them. Overall is a great stay, nice restaurants around, good gym, pool and beach area. For sure I’ll come back again in my next time in Cebu!

We stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel has private beach that has shuttle bus for every hours. Location was so good, so close to airport, malls marts everything. But the room service was so slow. There was no slippers in the room. Please buy some shampoo to use here. Shampoo was not good.

The girl staff seems like the hotel manager kept talking with the western couple even though there was people waiting for check in and felt really bad. The room was smelling moldy and my first time experience that the hotel just used bed sheets as blankets.

Joy and Sham was so friendly and helpful when I checked in at 5am. Everything is clean in the room. Not far away from Mactan beach. They have daily trips to the beach with a shuttle. All staff are kind, caring and helpful. They all let you feel so welcome.

First off, I’ll start by saying rather pay a little extra and stay at the Belmont Hotel next door, which I’ll explain below. I stayed at the Belmont Hotel for 2 nights and 5 nights at Savoy Hotel. Had I had the choice of being able to refund at the Savoy, I would have done so. Let me start with the positives. The cleaning staff and staff alike at Savoy are absolutely fantastic - so kind, so respectful and friendly. The attitude of the staff should be commended! The service of the room was good. The front desk staff, some of them, may just let you stand and wait aimlessly. I initially booked the Superior Deluxe Room. I arrived at 12pm and check-in was at 3pm. I eventually got to my room and it was tiny. Plus there’s an adjoining door to the room next door where you can hear everything. I then noticed several dead cockroaches in the bathroom. I then went downstairs and changed rooms and paid for an upgrade for the Deluxe Premier Room which was bigger and no adjoining room. Note that at the Belmont the room was not an adjoining room and had good sound insulation. Upon entry to my now upgraded room, there were several live cockroaches in the bathroom and then some baby ones on the wall behind the sofa and on the bed! I immediately changed rooms again! This time the second room was better. It was a corner room with a view of the ocean at one side and the swimming pool at the other. Every day, the staff serviced the rooms really well, I must commend Savoy for this. However, Savoy really needs to purchase new bathroom towels which are yellowed, broken and tattered. The room is good at blocking out noise from outside, and the bed was relatively comfortable. You can’t, however, order breakfast from the restaurant unless you purchase the buffet. Makes no sense as you should give your guests a choice if they want the buffet or order breakfast from the hotels breakfast menu. Overall, the highlight of my stay was the incredible and friendly staff (servicing staff and security) who always, numerous times a day, greeted us warmly with a big smile. The place is gorgeous and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
