Used the restaurant and really liked it however we also had a ride booked with the horses stables owned by this lodge. It was absolutely horrible and we refused to ride. The horses were in a terrible condition- severely underweight and starving, badly fitting tack, rusty bits, shoes hanging off and the men in charge of them were more interested in showing off than the welfare of the horses. They also had no regard for the weight of the riders and the horses were literally buckling under the weight of riders too heavy for them. It was soul destroying to see and had me in floods of tears…. This place should be closed down on animal welfare grounds- please please don’t ride the horses there until they improve the care and welfare standards- there is absolutely no excuse for it

We were booked to ride the horses located on Tambopaci land last week. We had paid as part of a tour. Please avoid. We did not ride. Horses are in dreadful condition. They are underfed. Their eyes are dead and they shy away from the obviously harsh men who ‘break’ them in and are in charge. The tack is ill fitting and dangerous. No care is taken to limit weight or allocate horses to carry weight. Shoes were part on part off with nails left in hooves. We refused to ride. These horsemen need to be charged with animal cruelty. There are other local riding opportunities where horses are cared for.😪

Unbelievable natural beauty. The lodge sits in the National Park at the foot of the Cotopaxi Volcano. The accommodations are comfortable and the staff are super friendly. The meals are delicious and the service was outstanding in the restaurant. Each evening the wood stove in the guest rooms kept us warm and cozy. We took a horseback excursion and had an incredible experience out on the páramo under the volcano.

Main asset of this lodge is its location, inside Cotopaxi Park and with full view from everywhere in the lodge on the volcano. Walking, horse riding and trips by car can be organised. Food is quite good, as well as internet connection (latter not available in Park).

We stopped for lunch arguably didn’t stay at the hotel. The restaurant is in the middle of no where and looks sketchy. However what a great dining experience at the volcano!! If you are in the park please stop there for food. The inside is cute and rustic. Staff and service was exceptional. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. It’s not gourmet but we loved it as delicious rustic in an isolated area. We were wonderfully impressed by the experience

This lodge is gorgeous. It’s in the national park - the scenery is unreal. We even saw wild horses. The staff is incredibly sweet and the food was yummy. The lodge was very clean, too! Very impressed and cannot wait to return! Keep in mind that if you’re staying here to acclimate, you’ll most likely be put in the dorm style room.

Best place we stayed in Ecuador and an ideal base for exploring the National park. Beautiful views of Cotopaxi. Excellent food overall and very good accommodation - we stayed in the newer building with lovely big rooms and wood burning stoves. Highly recommended.

The location with the dirct view to the Cotopaxi is breathtaking. The rooms are very tidy and the meals are excellent. Moreover the staff is very friendly and helpful. We would have loved to stay longer.

Our guide brought us here for a lunch, food was really good and there was lots of it in a warm and welcoming place. Would be a great hotel to acclimatise for anyone climbing Cotopaxi or surrounding peaks, at 4,200m its just about high enough as a base. For anyone doing a private tour in Cotopaxi National Park then this is a great place to eat.
