Beaverbrook

From the grounds to the food and spa, everything during my stay was incredible. We were fortunate enough to experience The House, Garden House and The Village as part of our way away day and every area was both unique and brilliant. I cannot recommend Beaverbrook highly enough and will be finding every excuse to take friends and family for a luxury break there in the coming months.

Attended the hotel for a meal. We wanted some pictures by the hot air balloons which we proceeded with. The restaurant wasn't open so we thought it was fine to do so. One of the waitress saw us by the gate, which was open and comes and closes the gate and locks it? Even though no one was there. She could clearly see we were taking photographs and not disturbing anyone else. I found this extremely rude especially if the hotel is known for it's aesthetics, why would you purposely come close the gate on us. We've never experienced this before and wherever we have been the staff are friendly and even offer to take photographs/recommend best spots, but not at Beaverbrooks. The food at the Deli was nice and fresh. Staff were more friendly there. It's a shame there is not more to the menu.

She consistently goes above and beyond. Additionally, we were very impressed with the gentleman who served us at The Japanese Grill. I visited Beaverbrook recently for my Babymoon and to be honest, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was made to feel extremely special as soon as I set foot into the property. My husband booked me in for a pregnancy massage at the Coach House spa and it was one of the best massages I’ve had! I would like to thank Claire, from the coach house for making me feel so welcome. After my relaxing massage, we had dinner at the Japanese Grill. The food and service at the restaurant was top notch! The popcorn shrimp and the Black Cod is a must try, if visiting! Given how amazing our trip was, I can’t wait to visit again! A big thank you to all the lovely staff at Beaverbrook who went out of their way to make our stay such a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to come back!

The spa is lovely but there is a lot of noise coming from behind the private doors at the spa. You can hear every word of the staff’s conversations… especially when they are laughing at hotel guests. Appalling, and definitely not what we expected from a 5 Star hotel spa

We really loved Beaverbrook. As a hospitality architect I can appreciate how much work and care is required to create and maintain a historic property to the highest standard and the team at Beaverbrook are doing it wonderfully. We loved all the art and how beautifully and thoughtfully the interiors and grounds have been considered. An experience we will brag to our friends about.

Huge thanks to Pip, Anna, Fred and all of the staff at Beaverbrook for a wonderful stay, full of personal touches for our anniversary and birthday. So often, we find it’s the staff that make or break an experience, and the team at Beaverbrook are world class. Visitors who have enjoyed stays at Cliveden and Pennyhill Park will be very comfortable here. We look forward to our next visit!

Ensure you request a room with a bathroom. My husband and I have a feeling we may have been given the only room without a bathroom but without a floor plan we can’t be sure. We paid a very high rate to stay as a treat for our wedding anniversary weekend. Booking breakfast and dinner, with a spa treatment and a classic room in the main house. We hadn’t booked a special offer and had paid full price, so definitely didn’t expect to be given a room with no bathroom. The trip will be memorable for the wrong reasons. Our room, Dame Rebecca West, in the main house is very difficult to access and has NO ENSUITE BATHROOM. It has a toilet, in a very small separate room (basically in a cupboard). This little room has a very low ceiling as it is in the eaves (with a small velux), so it is difficult to stand properly. Then there is a very small roll top bath in the corner of the bedroom, with no shower. When we explained to the desk staff and management that we were very disappointed to not have a bathroom, we were fobbed off. They disingenuously advised that they would look on their system. We lingered by the reception to ensure they were actioning our request but were rudely told to go off and wait. We popped back after a short while and were fobbed off again. We went to the spa for two hours and on return enquired again and were told that no one from management had looked into our enquiry but they would speak to us. No one did. My husband and I concluded from speaking to the reception lady that they prioritise certain guests and if you are new to the hotel, you get treated in a dismissive fashion, bordering on the rude. Other issues with the Dame Rebecca West room, is the aircon is noisy and didn’t work properly so we were hot all night. There are no proper window covering, so the light poured in at 4:30/5am and there is no storage, so we couldn’t put our wash bags anywhere. There is no proper dressing table, so not able to dry hair, apply make-up. The utter low point was that, in the morning, my husband and I were unable to shower and were forced to shower at the spa. The spa we found very pleasant and the weather was good. The staff were lovely. It needs to be cleaned better as found two dirty plasters lying around the indoor pool and jacuzzi. We had a fantastic meal at the Garden House Restaurant. We found the staff, food, ambiance and service impeccable.

We had a very special lunch in the Japanese balloons garden. Food was fantastic and, despite the weather, it was a fun and eclectic adventure. Special mention to the wonderful Tamarin, our server, who was just utterly joyous in her service- what an asset to the team. Have stayed and eaten at beaverbrook many times now and it never fails to delight.
