We arrived around 8pm. The property was so dark we had no idea if we wrre even at the correct location. No where in the description does it say that you have to go around back of the property when you arrive. The back parking lot was also very dark. I think we may have veen the only guests at the property that night. The property is actually very beautiful and majestic its just badly lit. The staff was ultra friendly and the room was decent although it was really poorly lit also (not even a lamp) just a couple sp**** ceiling lights. The room was very clean but the tv was rather small. Overall it was a good stay just kinda creepy being the only guests at such a huge pkace. We would definitely try it again.

This is a unique property. Lovely surroundings.
Although food is nearby it would be nice to have a continental breakfast in the morning.

Great stay. Fun space, friendly staff, and lots of room to hangout with friends. I plan on making this my yearly birthday destination.

I found this jewel by accident. I would have given 5 stars but couldn't adjust the thermostat and ig was cold in the room, also no coffee cups in the room. Didn't realize that until the morning. Bar is cute and their wine is surprisingly good

A very interesting inn. We would stay here again. If staying in the Kansas City area again it will be the first place we will look up for availability and price. We went to the Truman Library in Independence and then to Hamilton for the quilting stores the next day, so it was a great location. Went to Ginger Sue’s in Liberty for breakfast the morning we left. We enjoyed the stay very much.

This property is amazing! Staff is very accommodating and easy going, we had a wonderful visit and will definitely be back!

The property has an interesting history but beyond that the stay did not meet our expectations. The bed sheets were covered in black hair as though they weren't even changed from the previous guest. The room itself had no decor to soften the place and make it feel comfortable. Bare walls and floors made it feel very cold and lacking in character.

Had a great stay! Experienced some paranormal activity which was exciting. Clean and comfortable room. Good wine. Gorgeous grounds to explore.

Rude unfriendly staff clearly don’t want to deal with customers.
Dirty bathroom, walls paper thin, towels smelled musty.
Don’t tell you that they are closed until 3pm so although we didn’t expect to check in the fact that we drove 3 hours and on arrival at 2.50pm they wouldn’t even open the door to let us use a bathroom. They just hung up and said - not open until 3 then put the phone down on us!!!
Avoid where possible we got much better cleaner experience in Holiday inn and other chain hotels!!!
We traveled from the Uk and stayed in different hotels and this was supposed to be a “treat” to end the trip and was actually the worst most disappointing and dirty place we stayed in!!!
