Running a scam with ******* bookings. When you arrive, the front desk claims they can't find your booking with an obviously rehe****d script: "Hmmm....No, I'm afraid I'm not seeing it. You sure you got the right place? A lot of people get it mixed up. Today? No, sorry, it's not here. Happens all the time with *******. Nothing I can do. You'll need to have ******* resend the booking to #####...Yeah, they're really hard to contact. I have plenty of rooms available, but you'd be charged twice." After awhile online with *******, the booking is resent. Front desk: "No, I'm still not seeing anything." It's obvious now that the front desk staff is annoyed that I'm still trying to resolve this through *******, wanting and expecting me to give up trying to resolve this. I have ******* call their front desk while I'm standing there. Around this time, one of their employees walks in the front door and asks "Do you have any rooms available? How much?" - "$XX" replies the front desk, which just happens to be exactly the same as my booked price, as if to convince me they're not scamming me. Front desk is now on the phone with *******. ******* retransmits the booking again while on the phone. "Oh, THERE it is."
Pretty obviously some kind of scam - probably trying to get me to cancel the ******* booking and book directly with them, so they avoid the ******* fee and get more money, and would certainly charge more than the advertised price if they can get away with it.
