First of all, the front entrance is located in the strangest, most inconvenient place possible. It’s on a very narrow side street, where it is impossible for two cars to pass one another, due to a line of parallel parked cars on the other side. We were fully boxed in for over thirty minutes until we could actually pull up to the front door. There’s no way this could pass fire code. I booked the reservation using United miles, so it was prepaid before I got there. The check-in process took an additional thirty minutes in a very slow line. The receptionist had no idea my reservation was prepaid when I mentioned it, so she asked me to forward the reservation email to her. Of course, I still was charged full price and still haven’t been paid back. I’ve called twice about it already. The next morning was unbelievable. When I booked the room, I paid extra points for the breakfast buffet and arrived forty minutes before it was supposed to close. There was literally no food left except for some greasy trays. I asked the front desk receptionist what was happening, and she told me to tell the kitchen cook to go make me something. The cook was sitting by himself bored in an empty kitchen, and he seemed surprised when I asked him for the food I already paid for. He swore it would take only five minutes, but it actually took half an hour. In this time, three other couples joined me waiting, while I had to explain to them what was going on. I’m not kidding. When I returned to my room, I wanted to sleep a bit longer, and the receptionist agreed to let me check out at noon instead of 11am. At 10:30, a housekeeper banged on my door, and I let her know I had a late checkout, even though it was still before normal checkout time. At 11, she banged on the door again, and I loudly repeated myself, but she opened the door anyway. A receptionist then called my room, and I reminded her that she approved a late checkout for me. She rudely responded, “No, I wasn’t the one you talked to!” before finding out the truth from her coworker, who apparently didn’t tell anyone about my simple request. I actually worked in a hotel for years, and I would’ve been immediately fired if I acted like any of the employees here. Oh, and they still advertise their restaurant, even though it’s been closed since Covid!
