Crooked River Lodge

Overlooking the beautiful Crooked River, this location is cozy and outdoorsy. Its location in Alanson an even distance between Harbor Springs and Petoskey is out of the way of all of the light pollution so the night skies are gorgeous whether you're chilling on your balcony or sipping a drink on the patio out back around the gas fireplace. The lodge itself is clean and has rustic charm. I really can't speak more highly of the location. Wineries and good food are conveniently located near the hotel. You have to drive a bit more than if you were staying right in Petoskey, but the drive (especially in the fall when we were there) is absolutely gorgeous getting out to them. The staff was wonderful and made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast served hot and cold options and was pretty good. We took the paddle boat out onto the crooked river for a little bit on our first night and that was romantic, but the oars were a little janky, so it was hard to control. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

All rooms face the river, with stunning views of nature. Helpful staff. We took drives into the surrounding area to enjoy the autumn colors. Ten minutes from Petoskey, with easy dining options there.

Very nice stay and the Crooked River has such a charming atmosphere with a great location to many great sights and places in Northern Michigan

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting with a lodge like feel. There are great common areas for guests to mingle with one another and the outside firepit is a great place for guests to hang around in the morning and evenings. The location is very convenient to Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Charlevoix and there are many dining options a short distance away. The staff are very knowledgeable about the area and very personable.

It’s in a central location of upper lower Michigan. Service was very good. Room was spacious and clean. I would return again.

we always try to stay in a 2 bedroom suite, we stay 4/5 nights so space really helps. Lots to do even if raining

This was the most beautiful lodge!! They even have bikes and kayaks for guests when weather permits. The rooms were very clean and cozy. This is exactly what I think of when I think of a lodge. The breakfast was included with stay and delicious, better than most complimentary breakfasts.

Stayed here for our Anniversary weekend and it was lovely, and staff was amazing and did everything to accommodate! We stayed in the spa room and it was perfect; however, the free breakfast was okay, wish there was more options. Also there is no restaurant or bar in the lodge, wish there was though, it would definitely have made it better. Less driving around and more time to enjoy the lodge. Overall, I would recommend and stay here again!

We enjoy coming here with our kids and grandkids. There are so many family friendly activities from a warm pool to a well stocked game room inside and a huge outdoor space including a fire pit, kayaks, bikes and yard games.
