Premier Inn Liverpool City (Albert Dock)

Oh dear. I've stayed in dozens of Premier Inns so you kind of know what to expect but this one falls behind. It's in a fabulous location and I love the building but it's tired and needs money spending on it. For example the lifts are held together with duck tape, the corridor floor creaks so loud it feels like it's going to collapse under you and there's a sign at the end of the corridor saying "tip toe" so you don't annoy other guests. You heard them coming from miles away. The rooms were damp. The windows were locked so no ventilation and the condensation was bad. The smiley faces and the word Everton drawn onto the glass by previous guests showed they were not cleaned very often. The aircon system didn't work. Kept switching off. The bed was ripped around the edges and a lot smaller than usual. The ceiling was damaged and the walls damp. The food was ok. Breakfast had a wide choice but things did run out and weren't replaced quickly. We had an evening meal there which was ok. But the soup was luke warm. Now for the staff. I thought Liverpool people were supposed to be really friendly. Not here. Everything was an effort. No warm welcome. Overall a real shame. I appreciate it's not the Hilton but like I said you get to know what to expect and this place although it's a beautiful old building in an amazing location it failed in so many places.

Always stay here and will definitely come back location perfect close to everything just disappointed on the cleanliness this visit everything else perfect

This hotel is centrally located and perfect if you don't want to use a car to travel around. There are many choices of cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. It's also not far from the local train and bus station so you can walk it easily. The only areas I would improve are having a fridge in the room and having more choice of alternative milks both in the room and at breakfast. Otherwise I had an enjoyable safe stay as a female staying on my own.

I’ve stayed in Albert dock to look up Liverpool as me and my partner and two boys are moving up in November and I’ll say that it was the best few days ever the staff was so friendly you are 10 minutes walk from bus station to city centre am Definitely going back in August and October worth the money

Lovely, friendly hotel in a terific spot. Possibly the best view from a bedroom window that I’ve had in the UK. Great position to explore the dock area and the whole City Centre. We didn’t use the restaurant however it did look quite nice and the bar also had superb views. Comfy beds and everything you need to have a comfortable stay

ROOM 143 - do not stay in it My main complaint is the fact the roof/cement is falling off my daughters bed was covered most of the time in grit and stones also we could not leave un-covered drinks on the desk as the grit when in it. Spoke to reception - told it’s a listed building nothing we can do!!!! Eh health and safety !!!!!!! ❤️Pros: ❤️ very comfy bed … great sleep Brilliant location Good discount on parking Staff in the dinning room and housekeeping are lovely. Some of the reception staff are great also 🤬🤬Cons:🤬🤬 Lighting in room is soooo bad and not enough Not enough plugs TV is sooo quiet, so hard of hearing can’t listen Windows don’t open

Pros: Reception staff welcoming. Breakfast was good but strange you have to pay for hot chocolate but tea and coffee is free. Great central location. Bed comfortable as always Walls are very thin so you can hear everything clearly people are saying in rooms next to you. Difficult if you want to get to sleep and others next to you are partying. TV didnt work. Wi-fi very bad. Carpet worn, stained and ripped in places. Room stuffy (even with air con on) as you cant open windows.

Everything was great except for the air con in room 103 it was stuck on hot! We couldn't be moved as the hotel was full due to Comic con/concert/the football. We were given a fan on Friday night after complaining the room waslike a sauna but the fan was like a cats flatulence and made no difference whatsoever. Saturday afternoon we complained again upon our return from comicon the helpful girl said she woukd reset the air con for our room and gave us a second fan still made no difference. Aircon came on slightly colder. Me and my friend both have disabilities and suffer from hot flushes. PI aircon not working is our nigh**are scenario when we stay in various PI's around the country.

Booked here this past weekend, and we won't be returning. I had booked a family room months ago, as friends not wanting to share beds and to have extra space if needed. Upon arrival this was ignored and given a very, very small double room with one bed. At reception they advised because "there is two of us" that's the reason why our original booking hadn't been honoured, like it was an explanation to us but it wasn't. The hotel was fully booked but was managed to be allocated a twin room. The twin was much bigger, however the second bed was wonky (think of it as pull-out bed with metal legs). We were advised that it was "highlighted to maintenance" but nothing done. Cue two very awkward nights sleep. The rooms also have paper thin walls and could hear everything next door, so for these reasons I have now asked premier inn go honour the "good nights sleep" guarantee but I feel like this is going to be a fight. We paid extra for breakfast, and it was basic, but good enough. However the restaurant itself is in in need of a major refurbishment. All tables and chairs were wonky (another guest had spilt a cup of tea on themselves as the whole table fell to one side) and all of the cutlery was dirty. Stayed in Liverpool before, next door actually, I would not stay here again.
