Oakfield B&B

1) After spending GBP 945 for the accommodation I was wrongfully questioned about 'taking' a cheap disposable pen from the Guest Register!!! Implication resented!! 2) Scolded, like a child, for using the ONLY bath available for guests!!! 3)Questioned about my need for a print out of the route from Blaenavon to Cardiff Airport. A fee of 10p per printed sheet was mentioned!! 4) Inadequate heating from radiators during cold (1-10oC) nights. Was advised, but rejected, to use ONE dangerous hot water bottle. No offer of an electric blanket. 5) Had to request every morning, after I had drank my juice, my wife's orange juice entitlement. The owner was reluctant to place a juice, which was paid for, at my wife's breakfast setting. I needed (was offered water) the extra juice for my daily tablets!! 6) Only FREE TV. No digital or Sports channels. Was advised that Sky TV was TOO EXPENSIVE!!! Oakfield B and B can distinguish itself as the only paid accommodation I have ever used that only offered FREE TV!! 7) During cleaning every day all the wall power points were switched off by the cleaner. My wife made the mistake of turning one power point off, following the cleaners procedure, that provided power for the toilet flush. This caused a slight overflow. However, there was NO marking on the wall plug advising 'NOT TO SWITCH OFF'!!! All the above pettiness made our stay difficult.

I stayed at the Oakfield B&B for two nights and everything was just perfect. Paul and his wife made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The B&B is a very well kept and well run place. The property is beautifully presented. As I was travelling alone I had a very clean and well equipped twin room with en-suite toilet and shower. Paul and his wife serve a delicious full cooked breakfast each morning and you can also have a choice of other items if you so wish. The property is well located for the Breacon Beacons which was my sole purpose for staying here as I wanted to explore the beautiful Beacons on my motorcycle. This B&B also benefits Bikers with a garage to store your bike in over night. Just as I did. So biker friendly 👍 Highly recommended

I've just had a one night stay at Oakfield B&B, it's up there with the best B&B's I've stayed at. Friendly, welcoming hosts, spotlessly clean throughout the property and secure parking for my motorcycle. Excellent breakfast, just what I needed with a 250 mile ride ahead of me. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 1 night to be near son (just had a baby). Fantastic location, close to amenities and attractions. On-site (off street) parking. Very comfortable, homely feel. Nothing too much trouble. Paul was a great host, offering fresh coffee and tea on arrival as well as facilties being available in the room. Very comfortable room, with large ensuite shower/bathroom with lovely views. Full English breakfast was great. Will definitely be using again.
