Cheval Phoenix House at Sloane Square

Definitely nice place to staying a night in Chelsea. I recommend there.

Over-priced and over-hyped. Shambolic service, dreary, dun-coloured décor, sagging, worn-out mattress, malfunctiioning equipment, capricious heating. They offered us two free nights in the future as compensation, but we would never go back.

We stayed at Phoenix House for a one week family holiday. We were in a two bedroom unit. Apart from the bedrooms, it had a main bathroom, an additional WC, living/dining room and compact but complete kitchenette with laundry. Plenty of space for a family of four with lots of storage for shopping. It is a well designed, clean, safe and professionally-run aparthotel. Our unit was furnished and equipped to a high standard (Frette linens, Royal Doulton china, Bang & Olufsen TV, Sony electronics, etc.) Each major room has its own HVAC unit. Hot water and water pressure were not a problem. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals as necessary. A welcome basket of breakfast goods was provided on arrival. Both the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were friendly and professional. Located on side street close to Sloane Square where a tube station is located; giving handy access to the rest of London. It is in the posh district of Chelsea. More residential and less hectic than Oxford or Piccadilly. The shops of King's Road, Harvey Nichols and Harrods are nearby. The Natural History Museum and Science Museum are nearby as well. Booking was efficient and straightforward via fax and telephone. My only problem is the one week minimum stay. I wish you could book for fewer days. An excellent base to explore the great city of London for families. Good value for families who would normally require two separate hotel rooms. We would stay here again when visiting London.
