The Stag Hotel, Restaurant and Bar

We were in room 11, top floor at the back overlooking the car park. No lifts. Quiet most nights except one night there was a band in the hotel next door. Communication throughout has been excellent. We were advised they only had top floor, told no lifts and asked if still ok - it was. They did help with luggage. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely friendly atmosphere but not overbearing. They catered well for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets with a really good cooked breakfast, oat or soya milk just ask. Sandwiches were good. Dinner had a few options. Location is excellent - you park at the back of the hotel, large car park, we always found a space. You need to register your car when you book in - this was done as soon as we walked through the door, and another staff member checked later too. Walk out the front door and you are in the middle of the main Lyndhurst street, with shops and restaurants galore. Lyndhurst is amazing for vegan options, with special mention to The Greenwood Tree Cafe, almost next door, for its vegan cream tea! There is also a Tesco Express less than a minute’s walk away. The room has everything you need, TV, hairdryer, toiletries, even an extension socket. Bathroom looked recently refurbed. I’ve stayed in loads of hotels and this one was right up there.

Stag hotel is a must eat, stay & dine !! Regular service checkups . Very lively place ! Food is amazing . The stag hotel has a lot to offer including bar, hotel and restaurant ! Food ranges from a juicy roast beef dinner to a casual pizza and fries . Enjoy the live music, games, football and so much more with the stag hotel . . .

Even though we didn't stay in the hotel, we had a meal in the restaurant, all of us were so looking forward to a roast dinner, but unfortunately it wasn't what we had expected, first off we were told to take a seat and somebody would be along to take our drinks order, we'll this never happened we had to go to the bar ourselves and order, then we had to wait another 15/20 mins before I had to ask if somebody could take our food order, once we had ordered we were looking forward to eating our meal but our expectations were shattered, the beef looked like it had come out of a packet of tesco sliced beef the food was cold the parsnips were solid and not roasted we decided to send it back and not order anything else, we spoke to the waitress and said it wasn't her fault and we hope that what we said they take it as constructive criticism, however we decided not to have another drink as we needed to find somewhere else where we could get food, my friends said they were happy to go back another day but myself I wouldn't recommend going there for a meal, for a hotel I feel the standards in the restaurant and bar area were not impressive enough to be able to charge near on £20 for a roast and £3.50 for the smallest ramekin of cauliflower cheese I have ever seen, we managed to find another place that done a lovely Sunday and it was hot and very fresh and nowhere near the cost of what you offered, having travelled from Brighton I was totally disappointed.

Fantastic hotel ,room was beautifully decorated and equipped Staff were friendly ,welcoming and very helpful Both diner and breakfast were amazing, would highly recommend If you don’t stay pop in for a drink or lunch/ diner you won’t be disappointed

Had a wonderful stay at the Stag hotel Lyndhurst. Lovely host Steve and Maria and the staff were so welcoming to their cozy hotel. Food was excellent. We will definitely come again and highly recommend to our friends and family. Thank you very much Stag hotel Lyndhurst.

This is a really lovely place with friendly helpful staff we had lunch and dinner during our 1 night stay and food is amazing 👏 large outside area with huge tv and patio heaters parking at the back a big bonus ideal place to stay for exploring the new forest would definitely recommend

We only popped in for a drink however after recieving genuinely 5* service from staff, who where not only friendly, accommodating but took a real interest in us, I felt compelled to write a review. We had dinner reservations booked back at our hotel but wish we had eaten at the stag! The 2F1 cocktails where great, half the price of our hotel ( 8.95 for 2 cockails is impressive indeed) we can’t wait to return for more than a drink in the not too distant future.

Popped into the bar for a light bite to eat on a brief visit to Lyndhurst on our way to the coast. Ordered a cranberry and bacon baguette which was adequate and reasonable priced, watered down with an IPA. Side order of chips. Quite pub but just after 12:00 so anticipated.

The room was tired and dated. Basically not what we expected for £95. On departure I got charge £200 for a handle that was already lose and ill fitted and a fob charge. The landlord never disguised with me therefore just told his staff to bill me via her text. I would of appreciated if this was discussed with me personally than mention in their policy which was never provided to me.
