Longmead House

Stayed one night while walking the SWCP. Friendly / helpful hosts, superb breakfast, comfortable room and reasonable value. Parking and WiFi provided, a short walk from several restaurants, pubs and shops. Welcome walkers and offer a residents lounge with an honesty bar.

Great value for money, fantastic hosts, wonderful breakfast. Location perfect for Lynton and Valley of Rocks. If eating out in Lynton I would recommend The Greenhouse, a smallish menu but reasonably priced, good portion size and very tasty.

First stay at Longmead House and it will not be the last. Beautiful house and a great location to visit the Valley of the Rocks, Lynton, Woody Bay, Exmoor... and the South West Coastal path. We were upgraded to their Premier Deluxe King size room. What a room, large, decorated and furnished to a high standard. Very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. Lovely home made lemon drizzle cake in the room.Bottles of fresh milk in a fridge just outside the room. Variety of cooked breakfast options options. They catered for my wife's gluten free requirements. High quality home made granola on offer. We took advantage of their evening platters options- Meat, and Fish - both very good. Extremely good value drinks available to accompany evening meal or just relaxing in their residents lounge. The hosts Nick and Melanie were lovely, and fantastic. There is on site parking. We have found a new place to stay when visiting the area. Highly recommend Longmead House.

Beautiful house in the perfect location for visiting the Valley of the Rocks (short walk) and the local area.. We stayed in room 1 which was lovely. The bed was amazing giving us the best nights sleep! Cake was a welcome surprise after walking 9 miles up-to Watersmeet, exploring Lynmouth and Valley of the Rocks. The breakfast was top class! Pre ordering breakfast the night before and choosing a time slot ensured a well oiled service… In short a perfect stay! Would definitely return if back in this area. Thank you, Daz & Sarah x

This is the best B & B we’ve stayed at in many years England or Ireland. Beautiful house Free parking lots of spaces. Great gardens with plenty of seating. Bedroom kitted put with everything you could want and lots more. Bath was great as don’t have one at home now. Lots of fluffy towels, lotions etc. Comfortable bed. Tea coffee even homemade cake in room. Fridge outside with milk water . Couldn’t fault it even if one even tried.. Short walk to the restaurants and Lynmouth beach and the vernacular railway a must do in itself. I must the mention the lovely lounge with Honesty bar. Thank you guys you do a wonderful job.

The three stars are one for breakfast quality which was great, the second star is for location being very close to nice coastal walks and the third star is for the welcome cake in the room which was delicious. However, after staying in over a hundred B&B’s across the UK and abroad overall this one is average as sleep quality, room cleanliness and broken toilet seat (which annoyingly the owners new about but hadn’t made a good enough effort to resolve!). The room had many areas of mould on window area and bathroom, The window.had broken glass and was not able to fully shut and rattled too much in the night to allow for a good nights sleep. The door to the room was also loose which again rattled during the night until some paper was trapped into it to alleviate this. Overall the lack of a good nights sleep and the problems with the cleanliness of the room made this an average experience which with the price paid, which was tainted by others booking for the time we had being offered a free platter and discount on room costs which as we had booked nearly a year ago was not offered to us too, being too high for this experience. Not convinced too by the lack of after care shown to my wife who got burnt on using a coffee cafeteria at breakfast that was overfilled by the owners that the owners are more interested in bottom line profit over customer satisfaction. I cannot therefore recommend a stay at this B&B unless things we found wrong are rectified.
