It was a great experience the location is great and the cleanness is great and it is safe and Angelo is a helpful and great person so I recommand it to every one and if I came again to madrid diffently I will stay in this hostal because it is excellent in all the sides

We know Madrid very well. This is the first time we have stayed here and the truth is that it is very good. I was delighted with the treatment of the staff. The cleanliness is renovated, it has a good coffee machine and a good cleaning service. And above all, it feels safe everywhere. The ladies who work here are wonderful. So we recommend it.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This Hostal is unsafe for women. On the final night of my stay, the concierge sent me an unsolicited sexual image via WhatsApp. He had previously checked me in and knew I was staying alone. After sending the explicit image he then tried to deny it and said it was meant for the “cleaning lady”. This interaction happened at 22:00. He also told me to relax and that I was overreacting to what is clearly a violation of my safety. His messages continued to be extremely unprofessional. I ended up leaving the Hostal and moving to a new hotel as I did not feel safe spending the night there. Hostal Patria is now refusing to cooperate in resolving this issue. This Hostal should not be in business.

It is located a few meters from the Puerta del Sol, so its location is very good. We had a family room that was quite spacious and comfortable, with good views. And when I closed the window, I barely heard any noise. I didn't like the pillow, it was only one piece, but we asked them to change it and they did it without any problems. We have seen that it is very safe, the girls who work there are super friendly. The staff are almost all girls. A place that transmits security.

Great place to stay. I've been using this place for years and it's the best. Ángel the owner is fantastic. It's smack downtown, so you can come and go throughout the day. I always come here when I'm in Madrid and always will. Ángel is always available.

Perfect location, very clean room and bathroom. Definitely book a room with a balcony. You will get the view of Calle Mayor. It was not too loud with windows closed at night. Steps from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Only downside is it is on 4th floor and elevator is small. Very small downside with all the positives.

Madrid is an expensive city and I booked Hostel Patria knowing that it wasn’t a ‘secret’ Mandarin Oriental. Even so, this hostel wasn’t cheap at just under £100 per night without breakfast and a shared bathroom. When I booked the room I was looking for a reasonably cheap-ish room within quick walking distance from a metro. In this case the metro is Sol! A 4 minute walk from the metro. My room was very basic (as I expected) and there was no breakfast provided. A small breakfast would have been nice but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. There was no view whatsoever from my room, unless you count a lift shaft! Overall, a very basic room in a very good location!

Very well located in the centre of the city, yet absolutely calm. It was very clean and I felt comfortable at all times. I can only recommend it to anyone who is interested in a good and central accommodation. The staff was very friendly and always there for questions or requests.

This hostel is clean and very quiet. It’s location is amazing and very central. I was in a small room but it was fine and the bathroom was shared but kept very clean. This was a wonderful experience and the attentiveness of Angelo, the Manager, made it brilliant.
