The hotel is beautiful, like a lot of the architecture in Madrid the building is so well kept and characterful. The layout is different, with the reception and spa facilities at the top of the hotel and the rooms below, but it was fine, there are 3 lifts to service guests (as well as stairs).
The location couldn't be better, you're right in the heart of a very busy city and a short walk from a wonderful market (Mercado San Antón), as well as being in the heart of Chueca (night life!).
The room I opted for (Superior) was spacious, well appointed, with a lovely big open shower and separate WC, climate controls in the room worked very well but being on the 'City View' side meant it could be quite noisy late into the evening and early in the morning (but you soon get used to it).
Not the cheapest place to stay but offers are usually available and I would heartily recommend this hotel, with plans being made to visit there again in the new year.
