We had booked a room at this Hotel for Aug 19th on the Hotel's website and had paid an advance of Rs.1000. We had an email confirmation received for our booking also. However, on arriving at the Hotel on 19th, we were informed that they cannot give us a room because of some ongoing event in Madurai. Not only that, till date, they have not refunded the booking advance despite emails and phone calls. However, I am grateful to one gentleman at the Hotel who was kind enough to point us to another alternate Hotel which had a room available where we could stay that night. If they had constraints for which they were canceling our reservation, they could have easily informed us on phone or email they won't be able to honour the reservation and should have returned the booking advance. Clearly, the Hotel does not think either one is necessary.
