This was the third attempt for a stay at Maia Resort (booked twice already but had to cancel 2020 due to Covid restrictions and our honeymoon in 2022 due to my wife's pregnancy). I am more than happy that this time it finally happened although I was really torn back and forth for months as the hotel decided to no longer offer the beyond all inclusive concept as F&B basis for all bookings like still in 2022 (time will tell if this was a good decision). One would think the price has been adjusted accordingly but unfortunately it remained the same but now B&B only. I was really close in staying at Four Seasons or Zil Pasyon instead but not like they were cheaper but because of this kind of fact which I didn't like. Well, we decided to go to Maia nevertheless because this was supposed to be our 'belated' honeymoon and so glad we did it! We were thrilled of the lush gardens, the property and the villa right from the beginning. We had a beach villa (special thanks to Farid who was outstanding in communication) and this was perfect for our stay with our 1YO. The beach is right beside the garden, the grass is perfectly walkable and the private pool is georgeous. The villa is good in size and the outdoor sitting/dining pavilion is the perfect setting for a private breakfast, lunch or dinner. Each villa comes with a private dedicated butler and the service is simply wow. Laxman took good care of us and was the best butler we could have imagined. He was always polite and there for us if we wanted to and offered us privacy when we wanted it. Even when he was there we felt like he belongs to our family. I cannot express in words how happy we were with him! For our last dinner we had a beach dinner set up next to our villa and it was by far better than any beach dinner we had so far. I would recommend the beach villas for families and the hill villas for couples or families with older children since the location can be a bit dangerous and you really have to look after your children in the hill villas. The views of the hill villas are extraordinary, however the location may not be ideal when weather is bad and if you prefer being on the beach. The beach villas are beautifully located in the gardens and next to the beach but obviously do not offer that kind of spectacular view. Food was very good and you can have your breakfast set up in your villa at no extra charge and all items can be selected from the menu. This is not common at other properties and a really, really good thing! They offer a kind of half board package but we did not go for it since our 1YO does not give us enough time to enjoy 3 courses :-) We enjoyed the beach and sea very much although the waves and current were a bit to strong for our little one and my wife but by far better than Anse Intendance. Most importantly, the Maia staff literally listened to us since we had a few requests upfront and everything, really everything has been taking into account. Even things that just have been ment
