Sumus Hotel Monteplaya & Spa 4Sup - Adults Only

Myself and my daughter , just returned from a weeks stay here. It was amazing , very small hotel literally on the main ***** . But secluded enough still. The food was amazing . The staff were all so friendly, you know they take notice if after the second visit to restaurant they know what you want to drink . The entertainment was ok very interment as a small bar area , so you could interact more. The singer Martha was amazing . Really enjoyed listening to her. The only downside I could put to my stay was the loud noisy lads in the hotel next door. But unfortunately that is an issue that couldn’t be helped. Thank you for a great holiday !✈️🌞

Would highly recommend this hotel as both as a base for exploring other places but also as a relaxing/sunny/wellness holiday. I came here solo for a four day break, as a young female I can say I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great, variety of options and was tasty. I used the gym everyday and it was often just me in there - also very clean with towels to use. Doors open onto the terrace and good amount of space. Spa was a very lovely experience; would definitely recommend and its great that it goes into the zen garden. Very clean. Terraces are lovely. The sofas/cushions on the sunset terrace could do with a bit of clean but I mean they are outside constantly & you'd lay on a towel anyway. 5min walk away is the beach (you have to go through an underpass to get there) and it's very pretty; was also very quiet when I went - great for sunset walks as well. Rooms were also nice, clean, with toiletries provided. Big shower; bed was comfortable, balcony was nice. Overall; I have a brilliant and enjoyable week here. If you've come to relax its a great hotel to do so - it was quite quiet when I went (half term week at end of may?) which is perfect. I felt everyone was quite respectful and even in the common areas for sunbathing/relaxing it was all very chilled. lots of restaurants, bars, shops along the ***** of the hotel so plenty of places to eat if you don't in the restaurant. Looking forward to coming back one day!!

This hotel is up there with the best we've stayed at. Most of the ******* that grate over time have been thought through and worked out. Room - well designed, comfortable, huge bed with plenty of pillows, spacious bathroom with all toiletries, daily housekeeping. Silly economy on in room drinks, 2 hopeless (for English) tea bags and 2 UHT milks per day. When the toiletries come in their own canvas bag. Food - Beautifully presented, wide selection at all meals, the cold buffet was particularly appetising with additional Manchego cheese and cured meats. Good choice of breads. Patisserie and puddings were eye catching. The cold buffet standard did decrease over the week we stayed though. Bistro - Excellent choice of drinks and food delivered to a very high standard. Good service in spite of occasional understaffing. Not enough ashtrays. Environment - this is where I think the Sumas stood out. There are 3 pools, two outdoor and one indoor. They are not for fitness swimming, but the outdoor pool has jets, bubbles and a waterfall. The smaller 'relax' pool above it is for a cooling dip. There are areas all over the site for every possible requirement - shade, sun, company, privacy, tables, couches, huge shared beds, variety of loungers, it would be impossible not to find an area for your needs. Entertainment - Sadly, for me, this was the disappointment. The modern Flamenco evening was good, but the other performers were poor. No doubt they are provided by an agency, and just went through the motions. No crowd engagement, no ability to read the crowd, people hoping to dance were soon sat down with a selection of miserable crooning. Passers by took one look at the sad faces and moved on. Needs attention. Location - Just opposite the beach, reached by underpass. Shops, restaurants, and beach bars within walking distance (and 3 English pubs for sports fans). All in all we had a lovely, relaxing holiday here. The hotel is very international, with English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish guests, all very friendly and charming. All staff were approachable and smiling, and went out of their way to assist. Would definitely recommend and return.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed. Whilst waiting to check in, we were greeted by a drink. The receptionists were very welcoming. Due to an early flight we couldn't check in, but we were allowed to leave our luggage in the luggage room whilst we had a wonder round and check out the hotel and the area. The housekeeping team are very good and professional. I accidentally threw my shorts over the balcony and within the hour they were retrieved by Natalia. The staff in the restaurant are second to none! Absolutely brilliant! Elena on the desk is so friendly, and with my dietary needs she made sure I had something good each day to eat. Carmen makes the most delicious omelette I've ever tasted. The surrounding staff are so professional, passing pleasantries all the time. They got used to my diet and would bring me gluten free bread, croissants, pizzas, spaghetti. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is so clean as well, the domestic staff work so hard to maintain the cleanliness. One of the receptionist staff, Marta, is exceptional, one evening my husband was struggling to sleep and she managed to get a fan sorted for him. I would certainly reccomend Sumus Monteplaya!

A smart hotel, well maintained and great cleanliness throughout. The staff were wonderful and professional, and always served with a smile. The twin/double room (218) was large, with a good sized bathroom, and a good sized balcony with a sea view. The room/bathroom was of a very good standard. Although the room is next to the lift, it never once disturbed us. A good selection of food was always on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My only criticism was the food not being hot enough. There is a microwave if you need to reheat your pizza or chips, etc. There are various places dotted around the hotel grounds to sunbathe or relax, and is very peaceful. The pool is a reasonable size, large enough to swim back and forth to stretch the arms and legs. Like all pools the water is cold initially, but after a few minutes it's lovely. The hotel is in a good location. 10 minute walk to the old town of Malgrat de Mar, where there is a market every Thursday, and a free lift ride to the top of the hill to see the small tower and a view of the town. It is also a 10 minute walk to the train station if you wish to take a trip to Barcelona (€11 return). Train journey takes 1 hour 15 mins. The beach and sea is a very short walk away, access via an underpass beneath the train tracks. I would recommend this hotel to all who wish to relax in a great environment.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly. Our room is very modern and towels changed everyday if required. However we stayed half board booking with TUI ( breakfast and evening meal) food choices are very good and fresh everyday. However do not expect any drink with your evening meal, not even water! They turn the water machine off at evening meals which was disappointing. We’re happy with purchasing wine or other drinks at Dinner but water should be complimentary.

Went with a friend on a Shearings coach trip - just returned yesterday - loved the hotel. The staff were really friendly and very helpful and the facilities were good as well. We took advantage of the spa area on one day and at €15 for three hours and a €10 deposit for either a robe or a towel for the whole holiday it was well worth the money. We also sat in the quiet area just outside as the sun stayed there until around lunchtime and preferred it to sitting by the pool as it was not quite so exposed and there were shaded areas as well. The food in the restaurants was very good however some dishes had a little too much olive oil in them for me so couldn’t eat those and the meat was a little tough on occasion. However they did omelettes at breakfast if you asked and I enjoyed a few mushroom omelettes during my stay. I had a great room the and my balcony got the afternoon and evening sun. Great for a cup of tea or a glass of wine! Brilliant water pressure in the shower and the choice of a normal or waterfall power shower. Plus I had his and her sinks so the extra sink came in handy every so often. You could get your sheets changed if you so wish so took advantage of that twice. The rooms were spotless and clean. Not sure whether I would do a long stay holiday in Malgrat again but would definitely stay at the hotel again for a few days as part of an independent travel holiday if I am ever passing through that way.

the hotel was so lovely , i liked my appartment a very large bed and comfortable , the chamber maids where very good , the staff very helpfull , i liked that the hotel was adult only , that i had my balcony of my own and able to smoke on my balcony and the food was great . the only down side was when we chose are food we had to serve it on cold plate,s

My partner and I had a really good experience here. We went for an Easter break/ my birthday. The resort is adults only so was lovely and peaceful. Very chilled atmosphere with good areas to relax. Poolside and table service. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food was really good! We enjoyed it very much. There was lot of variety catering for all and there was something different each night. The room was warm as usual with most hotel rooms, but having the balcony helped cool the room and we had a partial sea view. The room was lovely, modern, clean and spacious, there was a large walk in shower and our room had a double sink. Our room came with a fridge and hot drinks station. The gym was free with about 4 pieces of equipment, weights and yoga mat. Only myself and partner were using it at the time so no waiting for machines. Towels were provided and water. We used the spa 2x at 15€ pp we loved it! It included an indoor pool, saunas, steam room, ice bath, heated loungers and hot tub. Only thing we found was on the 2nd visit it was busier and people were hogging the heated loungers which was rude. Drink station provided also and lockers. We only went in the bar once so cannot comment but it was a nice space and I know some nights provided entertainment. The hotel was in a good location with shops, food places and bars all around and the train station is about a 10/15min walk away, with a direct route to Barcelona at around £10pp and to other resorts close by. Overall such a lovely experience would gladly go again!
